I don’t do a post on every Megami I get, as I have a subscription and some are just alright, but I figured I had to post something on this newest one, as it’s the 10 year anniversary edition. This is issue 112, and if you have any bit of intelligence you can figure that with one magazine released every month, and 12 months in a year, tada, 112 would mark 10 years…(That was me being sarcastic, although the magazine says 10th anniversary, the math doesn’t make sense that way…)

This issue had quite a few goodies in it. It seemed to heavily focus on Nanoha, which I love. The excuse of course being the new movie coming out. I doubt they would have focused on Nanoha if it hadn’t, as it’s not like anything new besides the movie and game have happened in a while. Asides from the cover there is a big poster, both sides being Nanoha. There is a Drama CD and CD jacket, both Nanoha of course. A small removable manga, not just the one that is bound in, about Nanoha of course. And finally a Weis Swartz whatever card for the Nanoha movie.

As I said there is some coverage on the movie and the new PSP game, both which are coming out soon. I have to say I had kind of forgotten about the movie until this recharged my memory, and it does look like it will be interesting. The game, I actually had no knowledge about until this so it was quite a shock and joy to learn about it. I WILL be playing this game, despite region and language barriers.

The posters were pretty good, the ones featured in the pictures aren’t all of them of course, just some of the better ones or at least the ones of series I’m more familiar with.

Well I’m posting this news separate from the post where I listed all the changes because honestly I wrote a lot in that post and the news of this may have gotten lost. It has been a long time since these pages have been updated so I wanted to post the news of it. Since the last update there have been two new writers which until now hasn’t been reflected. Information on the authors such as their history in anime and their favorite genres are supplied as well. So make sure to check it out.

We also have some snazzy photos up to represent the writers that you can check out, and for information how to contact me as well as the other authors now, the contact page has been updated to supply their information as well.

Hello everyone. As you may be able to tell by looking at the site, there is a new banner up. However I’m not quite that out of touch with things that I would title this post with “Big Changes” if that’s all there is. The new banner is one of many small and big changes that I and others have done to this site, and I’m here to tell you about some of them, including a new writer.

First of all, the biggest change with the site isn’t actually in its appearance or layout in any way. The biggest change and the main reason I’m writing this post is to let everyone know about it. The whole direction of this site is changing. Previously this site was probably 90 percent episode review posts. However I want to make this site much more. Starting with the new season there is going to be a change in how the posts come across and the amount of different kinds written. For starters the number of series that are covered on an episode by episode basis will decrease, which means that there will be more shows where we will only do occasional posts. Now, that may seem like it’s just basically doing less, but in fact I’m making this change so there is the same amount of work involved, but with a better result. You may have noticed some posts such as Flare’s posts on the series Index, and a couple of my Toradora posts that focused on one series but didn’t have a post every episode. We are going to try and bring more of these posts, as they are much more thought out and interesting when they can focus on something bigger than an episode, when they focus on an entire arc. With this new season there will be about the same number of series covered but the posts will be more thought out and not on every episode but just the important and intriguing things.

Before I get too further in listing some of the changes, I should talk about the new writer who I briefly mentioned. While I won’t say too much about him as he will be posting an introduction post, his name is Scottfrye. He used to have an AB site and then moved on to his own domain, then joined up with me. I’ve known him for a while and think he’ll help out this site. This segues into one of the other changes in the site, as I will be doing less episode posts that makes room for more editorial posts such as my Character Profile posts I’ve done, and several others I can think of. Scott wont’ be doing many episode or series posts but instead will do some editorials, and the other writers will do them as well.

As for the actual physical changes made to the site, well I’ll tell you about them, as some are small and may not be noticeable and some of you may just be too stu….well, I’ll just tell you about them. First off most of the changes were actually coded and done by the new writer Scottfrye, so props to him on the work; it was everyone’s joint effort as to decide what needed to be done, while he actually did it. First off there’s a new banner and the pages have actually been outfitted to not appear hardly visible inside the banner. I FINALLY updated the quote, though that’s not really an overall site change… One of the biggest things is that now we have a section under there that not only lists the most recent episode of the week, which by the way WILL start to get updated with these changes that are happening. But it also features automatically updating notifications of the most recent figure post and editorial psot, both of which I have mentioned will start being written much more often now that the way we handle episode posts changes. The categories have been cleaned up, the currently blogging series getting their own section and then the finished anime getting separated from the rest to reduce clutter. They are still there in a drop down menu, as are the archives while the rest of the categories are now much more visible. The blogroll has been moved to its own page where we feature some of the different writers’ favorite sites in addition to just normal blogroll links and Link Exchange sites.

Anyways, that’s about it. The main thing about the site changes that I really want to get across is, as I said, the way the episodes will be handled. There will be far more editorial posts and fewer posts that go episode by episode, focusing on the ones that handle whole arcs and give much more interesting and less forced writing and impressions. That’s a about it, keep an eye out to see these changes in action, and the new writer, Scottfrye, introduction post.

Well I’ve decided to do a quick post to make this announcement. Because I’ve been busy lately, and in order to improve upon my site more, I’ve decided to add a new writer. No, this time it isn’t an imaginary person inside of my mind, it’s a real person. He will do occasional posts and work with me on general posts together. In a short while he will post his first introduction post. I will still do posts, and hopefully this will free up time for Xeby-chan to do more posts as well.

Well I’m just making this post to point out the change I made to the way I’m handling my site’s pages. The pages as in the individual pages that say stuff about what I’m watching, and have links to my figures. I’ve now put them in the header but have also added some new pages which I’ll point out here.

The big thing is that I’ve added a page featuring my character profiles. Well…Xeby’s profiles. One feature on the site that I don’t do as much of as I should or want to have been the character profile posts that Xeby does. Hopefully giving it its own page will force me to do them more, check it out to find out more about what they are. They really are one of my more favorite things to write and I do think add more originality and interest to the site so please check them out and I’ll probably do them more :D

I’ve added a header for the Episode of the Week feature of the site. It’s pretty much a running tally of how many times a show has won the Episode of the Week award.

I’ve also updated the About Me and This Site page since the first time after making this site as some of it was a tad outdated. Aside from that, not much, just a minor site update but hopefully this will put some more emphasis on the pages and force me to do more figure shoots and character profiles.

So if you thought I stopped posting due to not seeing any updates or listing on an aggregator, or saw my site’s link problem and stopped visiting, all of that is fixed now. So even though I didn’t actually go anywhere, I continued posting throughout the problems, I’m in a way back from not being as… accessible as before.

This does mean for anyone who uses Anime Nano to see when I make new posts that you have to re subscribe to my site, for those of you that this applies to.

Hello everyone!! It is I, the lovely and cute Xeby-chan here to tell you all stuff! Super exciting, right? Yup! :D As stuffy ol’ Xebek mentioned in his post that there were some changes to the site coming he said that he would be giving me a lot more time to do all the stuff that I want to do, and make all the posts that I write, which are so much better then the ones that Xebek writes because I’m super smart.

Every week I’ll be bringing all of you one of my posts. I won’t do posts about individual anime shows, so nothing at all like the kind of stuff that Xebek writes. They will be editorial posts that talk about thing sin general, interesting and informative topics brought to you by yours truly. I even have a spot on the sidebar; since my posts are different enough form Xebek’s put will span multiple categories.

There will be a couple of different kinds of editorial posts that I will bring you. First is the Character Profile post. I’ve done a couple of these before and I’ll try and do them more often now. Character Profile Posts are where I take a specific character that I like, always a side character, never a main one, and I give some information on them and then an explanation on why they are so awesome. Then, I bring you lots of pictures of them. You can see what I’m talking bout by checking out the Character Profile Category.

But that’s not all; I will also be bringing Editorial Posts that just talk about a specific subject related to anime. I already have some ideas in mind. The posts will range form things like “Why are all “camera girls” in anime usually awesome characters” to things like “Does Hype Make or Break a Show” So look forward to those.

Finally I’ll have posts that talk about a genre of an anime. I haven’t decided yet on if they will be all about one genre or I’ll switch to another but I’ll talk about people’s general impressions are on the genre, what makes it unique, good or bad, and an overall look on some of the shows. When I thought of this I had specifically thought of Mahou Shoujo as an example of a genre that I think is interesting and completely different then others so that will likely be the focus of these posts. This may be the only case where I’ll look at a specific show and not just anime topics in general, BUT DIFFERNTLY THEN XEBEK. He’s so mean…

I may add more different types of posts when I come up with them, but they will all be along the lines of those, not dealing with an individual series or episode but anime in general. I’ll try my hardest to release them about once a week, one post a week not one from each type of post a week. Anyways, look forward to them; one should be out next week :D

Well, I figured that I need to make this post before the post that talks about what shows I’ll be blogging from the new season. As the title suggests, I’m going to make some slight changes to some of the series in the way that I blog them. I’ll still roughly be tackling the same number of series but some of the series that I don’t have as great of an interest in I won’t be doing an episode by episode post. I may do a post after the first episode and then just more or less random posts along the way as the show gets further and further along.

I will say specifically what shows I’ll do normal posts for, such as the ones I do now, and what shows will get a more summarized version in the post that should follow quickly after this about just what shows I’ll be watching for this new season. I’ll for sure do the bigger shows and the ones I’m more interested in with full blown posts such as I do now, shows such as Clannad and Shana, however some of the non anticipated ones or the ones I just find out about when looking things up I’ll just do a couple of posts throughout the series, thing such as my impressions, if an really big event happens I’ll talk about it, and so on. So I’ll still be doing a post for it, but no extensive screenshots or episode by episode impressions, batch posts again in other words.

More specifically, the batch posts will include one after the first episode about what I think of the show, if a character appears or does something that causes me to fall in love with them I’ll rant about that, and any big plot twists or just outstanding episodes I’ll do posts for. Then, of course finally I’ll do a final post for the end of the show. However, as I said these won’t be about the episode in particular, but the series up to that point.

Although all this means that for the most part my posts that deal with the individual episode shows will decrease, seeing as how a chunk of them will be batch posts, that does free up some time. I won’t just completely blow that time off, a sit wills till be for this site however I’ve decided to give Xeby-chan some more time, so here to talk about what she’s going to do with the time I give her as a result of these shortened posts, here’s Xeby-chan to tell you directly.

Hello everyone! It’s me, Xeby-chan as Xebek pointed out. Because Xebek is cutting back a bit on his posts I’ll be able to spread my super cute brilliance for everyone.  I’m planning on making a full post soon about what I’ll be offering, but for the most part they will be rather editorial posts that are likely to come about once a week. I’ll do some of the Character Profile posts that I’ve done in the past along with just posing interesting questions about whatever I find is interesting. Plus, even more that you’ll have to wait for my later post to find out about. So have no fear, although Xebek’s posts are cutting back, mine are jumping forward! :D

Some may have noticed, but not likely, that I just recently added a “Featured Feeds” section to my sidebar. The other day I got an email from Danny Choo asking if I wanted to participate in his featured feeds feature. I add his site, he adds mine and so on. So I have done such, and also added a couple of other sites that focus on similar topics such as figures. Hopefully the new feed on Danny Choo’s site will help make the site more popular, and I just hope that that feature on my site can help others as well.

Xeby-chan: I bet it was because of me! Danny Choo sent the email asking if WE wanted to be a part of it on the day of my announcement, he must have fallen in love with me becuase I’m a cute loli.
