Hi everyone! It’s me Xeby-chan. I’m here to show you the new PSP Go. However instead of just showing you boring pictures, I decided to spice things up. With this new PSP Go introduction, I’ll be introducing a new segment called Nendoroid Theater. It’s simply where I’ll take pictures of my Nendoroid figures in small little skits and sketches. This is really just for the hell of it, and just for fun. If they are rather lame jokes or fairly choppy pictures, bare with me. I had to take a lot of the pictures fast, as I didn’t want to be too late in posting an un-boxing, so the lighting wasn’t the greatest. I really did have a lot of fun doing this, so I hope you all enjoy it.

Right now, I’m simply going to have to write the captions for the pictures beneath the pictures, because at the time I took the pictures I didn’t leave room for nay text bubbles and don’t know how to properly add anything like that. The captions for each picture will be beneath that picture, not above. Anyways, here you go. I’ll answer any questions in the comments.

Tsukasa: Hello everyone, it’s me Tsukasa and I’m here to show you the unboxing of the new PSP Go.
–

Tsukasa: With me today I have Miyuki helping out.
Miyuki: Hello everyone.
–

Konata: WOOT! PSP GO!
–

Tsukasa: Um…I thought I was doing the unboxing…
–

Kagami: Konata! Leave my sister alone, this is her segment.
–

Miyuki: That was exciting, although with Konata’s love of video games, why isn’t she doing this?
Tsukasa: My sister said she would scream too much…
Miyuki: Oh my, well let’s get started. We may need some help opening the box.
Tsukasa: Oh, I got someone to help with that.
–

Shana: Hiiiiiyaaaa~
–

Tsukasa: Thank you Shana for your help. With the box open, we can now see the new PSP Go.
Miyuki: It’s so shiny!
Tsukasa: It will never be that shiny again…
–

Tsukasa: Alright, I think we got everything out of the box.
–

Miyuki: My, there are certainly a lot of manuals and cords.
–

Tsukasa: Kyaa~ Miyuki, you got us tangled up in the power cord~
–

Tsukasa: Now that we’ve dealt with that, let’s show a side by side of the Go with the original 1000.
–

Miyuki: It’s so small!
–

Tsukasa: Well, we can’t do anything with it now, I’m going to plug it in to charge up and we’ll take a look at the accessories we ought for it. Miyuki, over to you.
–

Miyuki: Well here we have the AV Component cables and the charging cradle for the PSP Go. Oh my, these are always so hard to open. Um, can I get some help again?
–

Shana: This is no problem, leave it to me.
–

Shana: Hiiiiiyaaaa~
–

WOOSH
–

Miyuki: Oh my, very impressive. Although I think you went a little bit overboard…
–

Shana: hmmph, Sometimes I don’t even realize my own strength.
–

Primula: 7 points
–

Tsukasa: Gah, who was that?
Miyuki: My, I don’t know. But now that we have the debris taken care of, we can show these two accessories.
–

Tsukasa: Here we have the cradle
–

Tsukasa: As you can see it has the proprietary thing in the slot there.
–

Tsukasa: And in the back there is a spot for charging with either the old PSP charger, or the new one. Plus, you can use the new Go charger slot for the AV cables as well. We’re just going to hook up both, the old cable for charging and the AV cable for putting the picture on a much bigger screen.
–

Tsukasa: Here are the AV cables.
–

Tsukasa: And of course, before we begin, we have a memory stick to add even more space to the new Go.
–

Tsukasa: Let me just put that in there…
–

Tsukasa: Alright, with everything charged up we’re ready to see it in action.
Miyuki: It’s so fun to slide it up!
–

Tsukasa: Here’s the Go closed, in clock mode.
–

Tsukasa: And a shot of it in the cradle, in clock mode.
–

Tsukasa: Here’s the game load up screen. Konata and Kagami will be taking you through a quick demo of a game in action on the new Go right now.
–

Konata: Hello everyone, we are here to show you a game being played on the new PSP Go.
Kagami: I still don’t see why you need me…
Konata: Don’t worry about it, don’t worry about it. We are here to show Fate/Unlimited Codes.
–

Kagami: As you see here, we have the PSP Go hooked up to the cradle Tsukasa showed off, and we just paired it with a PS3 controller, so we get to play it on a big screen with a real controller.
–

Konata: We have it booted up on the screen behind me. Eagle eyed viewers may see the other two games we currently have installed.
Kagami: What’s a Patapon?
Konata: Don’t worry about it, don’t worry about it.
–

Konata: Ok, I’ll just go ahead and pick Saber.
Kagami: Um, I’ll pick the one with twin tails…
Konata: Going with another Tsundere huh? I see, I see……
Kagami: I don’t know what you’re talking about!
–

READY…FIGHT!
–

Konata: Prepare yourself!
–

Kagami: Um, I don’t know what I’m doing but I’ll try…
–

Konata: Let’s go!
–

Clash

Konata: I’m not done yet! SUPER EXCALIBUR!

Konata: DORYAAA~!

Kagami: That…that was totally cheating!
Konata: Don’t worry about it, don’t worry about it…
Kagami: Gah, who was that?
Konata: Don’t…
Kagami: Don’t say don’t worry about it!
Konata: Never mind, never mind…lets wrap this up.
–

Miyuki: Well, that’s it for the PSP Go unboxing.
Tsukasa: I hope you enjoyed it and found it interesting.
Konata: GO PSP GO!
Kagami: /sigh
Tsukasa: We’d like to thank Shana for making a guest appearance; we appreciate her help in opening the boxes.
Konata: It was quite fun, thanks to Primula too for her commentary…
Everyone: See you later!

Well now that I have finally posted the photo-shoots for the five figures (4 and one group) up I figured I would take a look and reflect upon how this indoor photo-shoot was done. Overall, I have to say that I suck at taking indoor photos. I’m no expert by any means but even the pictures I took years ago with less knowledge, when taken outside they were just so much better. I don’t know how some of these people like Super Rats do it. I had a reflector, diffuser, two lights, hell the top one was even an expensive natural light lamp (I didn’t buy it for this shoot, I’ve always had it) but a majority of them still came out…blah. On one hand I think it’s partially my camera to blame. Although it’s a nice camera for taking pictures of people on fascination or at a party, with the lens always inside the body of the camera I can’t get any good focus with it. I think even a cheaper camera then what I have but just with a different type of lens would serve my figure photos far better. I also couldn’t seem to get the light right. The colors seem all messed up on my Horo shoot even though a gold background was the color used on the box when it showed pictures and it obviously worked there, complimenting the figure. I would say my best one is by far the Kannu shoot. I thought that one actually turned out really well. I’m kind of proud of that one, but the others weren’t so great.

In the future I’m definitely going to try and do more figure shoots outside, however the main problem I run into is that figures these days are just getting more and more complex. I mean, my god the Alter Nanoha StrikerS one that is going to be coming out (the one revealed at the Hobby Festival a while back) is HUGE and has little parts every which way, I would be scared to death to take something like that outside, or even my Alter Hayate outside considering how big she is with some delicate parts like her skirt-cape and wings. I’m probably going to be forced to take more indoor pictures. Hell, I would even be afraid to take my Nendoroids outside considering all the small parts that can easily be lost. (Also considering I spent more money on the discontinued Fate/Stay Night Lucky Star Nendoroids then most of my full 1/8 scale figures)

On the plus side if I get a slightly different camera, I think some of my future shoots will be much better. I just have to pick my colors a little better, ala Horo, and things will work out good like Kannu. It’s unavoidable that I’ll have to take more indoor pictures. I just hope I can better myself. The five I did here are at least far better than my first attempt at an indoor shoot which sadly consisted of placing table next to a window, with a screen, and a horrible whittle power board behind it. These five are thousand times better than those and there’s a good chance I’ll redo those pictures, and if I get even better I may redo some of these even.

Overall they didn’t turn out as horribly as I thought, but I’m still nowhere near where I would want them to be. They aren’t even close to my outdoor pictures, and I don’t take the most perfect outdoor pictures either. Still, shoots like my Kannu one give me hope.

On a small note, anyone have a good camera they may recommend I should try? Right now I’m using a Nikon S50c and while it’s a nice camera, the lens when zooming or in macro mode doesn’t actually leave the body of the camera so it has HORRIBLE focusing. I couldn’t get any close up shots I wanted and even some of the pictures I have now of the face where bigger pictures cropped down, which appeared blurry. I need a camera with a lens that sticks out. I’m not looking to spend 70 thousand dollars on a top of the line camera, I just need something reasonably priced that takes good close up pictures.

For a quick link to each of the posts in this installment of indoor shots, they are below.

This is definitely one of my favorite photo-shoots. Not only is it one of the most impressive figures I have, running at 1/6 scale with some beautiful sculpting, the colors and lighting seemed to just finally come together at the end. While all the other indoor shoots were kind of bleh, this one I’m actually proud of. I’m not saying its perfect, and I’m sure others who do indoor shoots exclusively could do better with their eyes closed, but for me it’s pretty damn good.

Of course, one of the things that probably helps the photo-shoot is that the figure itself is pretty impressive. I’m not a huge fan of Ikkitousen, but I had to grab this figure because once I saw it I just couldn’t help myself. The hair is done amazingly, several different strands having their own pieces and it’s carved to look like hair, plus I love the way it flows and doesn’t just hang there like a solid change. The body sculpting is great especially around the stomach and waist; the way it shows her form is pretty impressive and sexy. The skirt and cape are both impressive. They are both optional pieces which you can see in some of the pictures that don’t feature them. The cape thing is actually pretty massive. It has some very nice designs on it but it’s just a solid chunk. Thankfully they included a little plastic pole that actually goes into the base and stops the cape from weighing the figure down, so there is less chance of warpage.

It’s a tie between her hair and general body sculpting for my favorite part of the figure. As I said the hair is pretty impressive and the way it flows along with its sculpting makes it look damn nice. However the sculpting and shaping of her body is pretty eye catching. Although she has some impressive…. assets too, which are nice and nicely done, I think the shaping of her stomach area is almost more eye catching and impressive for the overall look of the figure.

The figure does have some more NSFW poses, with the skirt being removed you are left with a very small undergarment to cover her up, and going even a step forward there is an replaceable part that will expose her breasts for even more NSFW posing. Not that it matters as far as other people seeing her but I actually prefer her with all the pieces in tact as it just looks more like how the figure was conceived. It’s as if the NSFW bits were just added to hook in some more people, but the figure with her parts all on was enough for me. All the NSFW pictures are below this, so careful.

Well that’s it for my indoor pictures this time around. I’m still going to post an overall impression on how the set up for indoor pictures went, as this is new to me since I”m used to outdoor pictures. Stay tuned for the others, plus my overall impression of my indoor shoots. All pictures link to their larger counterparts.

After I just finished Louise and Siesta it seemed to make perfect sense to do a photo-shoot of them together. I had done a couple of group shots in the past, but nothing too impressive. The best one I did was of the four P@P figures I had, two of each girl, one each in different clothes, however a still less interesting group shot seemed like it would make sense and I decided to include it separately so it could get its own section other figure page. WHICH BTW I HAVE UPDATED.

As both of these figures are the same scale and both made by Alter I thought they did make a good match to be shot together. Plus I really like Siesta’s face having a look like she’s looking down. Considering the Louise figure is a bit low due to her pose it made for some interesting poses where Siesta was kind of looking down and behind her AT Louise. Beyond that there wasn’t too much else, I just figured that two figures for the same manufacturer and same series could be shot together.

The actual pictures turned out similar to their individual counterparts, why wouldn’t they. Same color scheme and, well, the same figures. Not much else to it than that. There’s still one more figure, and they are the best pictures of any of the five, best for last. The previous figures in this indoor shoot can be found here for Horo, here for Siesta, and here for Louise.

Here is the third of my five new indoor shoots, described: here. I did five photo-shoots indoors and Louise here was the third one of the five I did. Stay tuned for the others, plus my overall impression of my indoor shoots. All pictures link to their larger counterparts.

After I finished my second shoot I had plenty of time for some more so I pondered what else to do and seeing as I just finished Alter Siesta and I had an Alter Louise sitting on the shelf next to her, I decided what the hell. I kept the same background up but it seemed a bit fitting as the colors of the figures weren’t too different plus they are from the same series and all.

This is one of the newer Alter releases of Louise. They had actually done quite a few figures and they were all pretty good but nothing really caught my interest. If I had unlimited amounts of money I probably would have gotten a few of them but they weren’t impressive enough to get with my current situation. However, when I saw this one it looked just cool enough I had to get. I love the pose on this one. So many figures are just standing, doing a slight turn or bend, waving or whatever but this figure really is something a bit different. Plus it has very easy access to viewing her pantsu…not that that had any influence on anything.

This shot was very similar to Siesta’s I think the color really helps to just make this character kind of pop. I was able to get a bit more angles with this Louise as opposed to Siesta just because it had such a pose that made for some interesting shots form all angle. Still, the thing I think hurt the most was lack of a good focusing camera. (Yes, I know I keep blaming the shots on the camera but come on, the lens doesn’t leave the body of the camera, and it doesn’t focus at all on these!)

The figure itself is very nice. Although another rather solid one, the wand is removable, it’s a very nice figure. I think the post is just great and an interesting change from some of the others you see. I think that is my favorite part of it. They did a good job at making the cape nice and sturdy but also giving it some flail to make it seem like a cape. Though I think looking at the figure a bit objectionably, the cape is probably bigger then it normally is when compared to the actual scale of the character and clothing, but who cares, it looks nice.

Here are some shots of Louise next to Nendo-Louise. I’ll eventually do full posts on the Nendoroids, actually showing the different parts and faces but right now I was focusing on big Louise so I just wanted to throw her in for one or two pictures. Nendo-Louise does seem sad though…

There’s still more to come from the indoor shots. The previous ones can be found here for Horo and here for Siesta.

Here is the second of my five new indoor shoots, described: here. I did five photo-shoots indoors and Siesta here was the second one of the five I did. Stay tuned for the others, plus my overall impression of my indoor shoots. All pictures link to their larger counterparts.

I wasn’t originally planning on doing five figures in my recent shoot, I had just hoped for one and maybe more if I had time so I just picked a simple figure I had because I thought it would be quick. Well I then proceeded to do three more shoots. Siesta here isn’t necessarily one of my favorites, but was simple enough I decided to do a quick figure shoot of her.

I think the actual pictures turned out a lot better than my previous Horo figure. I attribute it really to the color. I think the blue background handles the light a lot better and really makes the figure itself pop. I still have the problem with not having a good enough camera to focus well on the figure, but the colors and lighting are much better than Horo’s.

As for the actual figure itself, it’s pretty good. It’s nothing too impressive or flashy, it doesn’t have thousands of parts sticking out or an incredibly detailed pose, but the face is nice, it’s not deformed, and fits the character well. It’s a solid figure. One of the few recent figures that I could have actually taken outside without a lot of worry, but I still did a shoot of it inside anyways.

As I said before there isn’t anything too impressive with the figure but I do think the face is very nicely done, looks like the character. I’m also glad they didn’t over exaggerate her breasts even though that is one of the things they tend to do in the series for comedy, they are pretty reasonably sized actually.

Overall I think this photo-shoot went pretty good. The camera’s inability to do real close up pictures hurt but I think the color and lighting went much better than the last one I did. Stay tuned for more indoor shoots, the previous indoor shoots can be found here for Horo

Name: Horo
Anime: Spice and Wolf
Scale: 1/8
Height: 20cm
Manufacturer: Goodsmile Company

Here is the first of my five new indoor shoots, described: here. I did five photo-shoots indoors and Horo here was the first one of the five I did. Stay tuned for the others, plus my overall impression of my indoor shoots.

Horo here is one of my favorite figures I’ve gotten in a while. It’s a beautiful figure and the swooshing look of the figure is beautiful. The way the hair flows and just the posture of her body looks great. However, unfortunately, it was the first figure of the five that I took and was definitely the worst of the five. Worst as in the actual pictures aren’t great, the figure itself is great.

I think the main problem I had here is that the color background was far too bright. The color itself isn’t the problem but the way it affected the light was. Looking at all the other figures I did in this recent shoot, this one is the worst but the color is also the brightest, so I think that played a major part in this.

This figure actually holds a new record for the most amount of removable and interchangeable pieces. She has an optional necklace, her two ears can be removed and a hat can be used instead. Her vest is optional; the bow on her skirt is removable, as is the skirt itself, leaving just her pants. The braided tail is also a separate piece, and then of course to be able to remove the skirt and vest her head is a spate piece, each arm is removable, as is the torso itself. A lot of pieces, but it also leaves for a look you can get just as you want.

As I said the favorite part of this figure has to be the pose. The way they have her body twisting is great. The actual torso looks as it would if your body was doing that kind of turn, plus her shirt has the ruffles and wrinkles to follow it. Everything looks just perfect and you can really imagine her doing that kind of spin and turn around.

So there it is, the first of the five new indoor photo-shoots. As I said this is one of my favorite figures but out of the five shoots I did, it looks the worst so don’t be deterred by this, stay tuned for the other ones, as they DO look better.

It’s been years since I’ve done a proper figure photo-shoot. My last figure post was about my enormous collection of Nendoroids but that was only one quick picture of each of them in a badly lit environment, mainly just to show them off. Before that the previous figure shoot was EXACTLY, save for 10 days, TWO YEARS AGO! TWO YEARS! In the meantime, I had not stopped collecting figures, oh no, in fact I got more than ever. However I just never took pictures of them. Now the number of figures I have that do not have pictures far outnumber those that do, and last week I had enough free time that I decided to change that.

Still, I was far too lazy to actually leave the house. Laziness is a real medical condition I suffer from…don’t make fun of it, its unavoidable. So, without going outside I still decided I would do some figure photo-shoots so, well, did indoor pictures. Now, that is nowhere near my comfort zone. I take pretty good outdoor pictures, not perfect, not the best, but good. However the one time I tried to do an indoor shoot and it looked like absolute utter crap. However this time I decided I would try and set it up a bit more professionally and less makeshift. Not wanting my set up to go to waste I did a total of five figure photo-shoots. 4 individual figures and then one shoot of a group shot of characters from the same series and manufacturer. So, I have to say that doing five photo-shoots after not having done anything for TWO YEARS was pretty impressive. I plan to post them very soon, as I’m writing this the pictures are already taken and everything. Expect to see all five figure posts up within the next week or so along with my overall impression on how the scary indoor shoot went.

The figures I took pictures of are GSC Horo, Alter Louise (the new one), Alter Siesta, Daiki Kannu Unchou, and a group shot of Louise and Siesta. Look forward to them, but remember this is essentially my first indoor shoot, the other one hardly counts for anything. Plus, the camera I use sucks, more on that in the final impression.

I’ve been a pretty big figure collector for quite a while. While I don’t have as many as a lot of people, I have my fair share of them. I’ve pretty much just bought standard PVC figures, the god ones, nothing smaller then 1/8 scale or anything. However about two months ago I bought my first Nendoroid, and it has started a definite illness. In two months I have bought ten Nendoroids, and I don’t exactly have the income that can support that much spending. Now my spending has slowed down but the point is that these cute little things are just so damn addictive. They are so cute that I just couldn’t help getting more and more, I even opted for some of the really rare ones that cost quite a bit, so I’m here to share the fruits of my addiction. I’m not saying that I have a lot of Nendoroids compared to others, but I’m certainly up there with the amount I’ve accumulated in such a short period of time.

Now, there aren’t super elaborate pictures of each figure here, just a quick shot of them and some batch photos. I’ll do a full figure post for each one with pictures of all different pieces and faces later on. I’m very far behind on pictures for the bigger figures as well.

Here, we have my Lucky Star collection of Nendoroids. These were VERY hard to come by. All of these are discontinued and not sold in any normal means. To complete the collection, I’ve already pre ordered the Comptiq version of Miyuki and Tsukasa, which are coming out soon. Once they arrive I’ll have the four of them, Comptiq versions, the Comptiq versions being the ones where the girls have animal ears.

I love this Lucky Star Fate/Stay Night couple. I’m a big fan of both shows. Konata doesn’t come with any different hands or anything; just an alternate face with stars in her eyes, and Kagami has an option for holding Rin’s dagger, Azoth.

These two Comptiq versions of the girls have a lot of alternate pieces, including chairs to sit down in and a sitting down leg piece.

Next are some combination shots of the Lucky Star Nendoroids:

Kagami didn’t expect to run into Konata at the convention and is embarresed to be found cosplaying, while Konata is crying tears of joy that Kagami has embraced her inner otaku.

I think Konata and Kagami did an excellent job cosplaying, just look at the following Fate/Stay Night poster of Rin and Saber, and then a shot of the two and see if you can tell a difference:

These two Nendoroids are the other Nendoroids I have which were very hard to come by, and pretty rare:

Primula here didn’t come with a lot of different pieces, in fact she didn’t come with any extra pieces at all, but has the classic Nendoroid movement in her joints. She did come with some small cats that I have stored. However the big thing with her is that she talks, there is a button in the back of her head and pressing it she’ll say one of two short phrases, in Japanese of course. I bought this figure when I didn’t’ know about the talking feature and when I found out I nearly died of a cuteness attack hearing her voice, it was awesome.

Sumomo here, as I said, is another one of my rarer Nendoroids. She came only packaged with a Nanatsuiro Drops DS game and with some small posters, postcards and calendar package. Her other face is a sleeping one, along with a pillow. She’s one of my favorites just because, well look at that face, it’s too freaking cute!

The rest of my Nendoroids are more normal and not as special or rare, but still as cute and awesome.

Haruhi Nendoroid, no matter what others say about the show being overrated, it was a very solid show so I had to get at least her.

Shana here, one of my favorite series. She comes with her jacket-cape but I can’t put it on her when I pose her with her arms up like that, which I prefer to do for now.

Pastel Ink here, Moetan was a very…odd show but she’s very cute so I had to get her despite the show.

Sakura, from Penguin Musume Heart. I loved the pose she’s in here when I saw it for sale so had to get it, a very nice figure I think.

Next up is a quick group shot of all the Nendoroids:

And next, another shot with Hayate figure comanding her Nendoroid army to go forth.

Go my little minions!

Next, we have four of the Nendoroids posed next to their larger figure counterparts. I don’t have figures for the other Nendoroids, yet. I may get the GSC Pastel Ink since the base for the figure works with the Nendoroid too.

As for future purchases, I have to slow down a bit but Miyuki and Tsukasa are already paid for and preordered, as well as a pre order on the Hatsune Miku Nendoroid.

Well, again the title is very informative as to what the post is about. As some people may note or know, but I doubt they do, I have done several photo shoots of the figures that I have. It has its own category and its own page that links to the galleries and shows what I have. Anyways, I haven’t done a pos about any of the figures I have for a while, which actually isn’t because I haven’t been getting any new figures. In fact, as it stands right now I have four figures I have yet to do photo shoots, one on the way, and two more preorders so I am behind and approaching being very behind on the photo shoots.

Right now I have the three Max Factory Haruhi girls I haven’t done figure shoots of. (Which is why I choose the brilliantly placed picture of the Haruhi girls holding the Haruhi figures, awesome, I know) The fourth is someone who I won’t tell you, mwahahaha, you’ll have to wait until I get to them. I actually casually mentioned it once in one of the posts I was doing for the show. Anyways, why the hell am I saying all this you may ask? Well I will be resuming these picture posts soon partially due to my new camera I have to try out.

What happened to cause me to get a new one you asked? I know you’ll actually not asking any of these things I’m saying you are, I just stating things like that. Well my old camera broke. Xeby-chan claims leprechauns stole it from her when I let her borrow it. So, instead of buying a camera of equal value I thought why the hell not buy one that is 4x more expensive….so I did.

Now I guess I can’t really show you a picture of the new camera unless I try and do some weird mirror thing which I’m just plain too lazy to do. I did find a picture of the same model which is pretty much the same thing but it’s not actually the camera I own, unless they used it for modeling before shipping, in which case I have a famous camera….

It’s a Nikon S50c. It’s got some very impressive and fun to mess with features as well as, for all I can tell, good picture taking. The features aren’t, all just for fun but some things I’ve found useful in seeing what I can sue for picture taking like burst shots where it will take motley shots and pick the best one based on focus and delete the rest and just continuous picture taking and so on. It’s got an ISO balance thing to help with lighting, which may help in any indoor photo shoots. It’s got one feature I think is really cool but isn’t exactly there to facilitate better pictures. It’s got its own wireless so you can email pictures directly from the camera and wireless upload them to the computer or to photo banks, I think its joined up with flickr on that matter as well.

Well, tell me what you think of the new camera anyone who has experience with digital cameras a lot or figure taking, I’m not completely new but my old digital camera wasn’t this advanced.
