I absolutely loved this series. I was a big fan of the first season and I remember being quite a bit worried going into this one. There was a lot of uncertainty with this series because it was really unclear on what the hell it was, some kind of remake of the first season, a sequel but with a different company, so on and so forth. Even if it wasn’t a remake and was indeed a sequel like it turned out to be I was afraid that a change in animation and the company doing it might change the way they handled the humor or the jokes too much. However in the end it turned out fine. Although if I really had to choose I’d probably favor the first season over this one it’s not because this one is bad. It was a lot of fun to watch, the same kind of great humor the first season had.

I do have to mention Makoto/Mako for a bit. I would say that his parts in this season/series was definitely one of the higher points. It seems like they focused on him a LOT more then in the first season. Now, that is easily explained by the fact he didn’t take on Mako until the middle or so of the first season so they had the entire series to work with him. Regardless, his parts always made me laugh. I still remember just holding onto my sides, literally, laughing at the bit where he was making Valentine’s chocolates and said he was going to give it to Makoto. They definitely dealt with his character in a great way, really making it one of the best parts of the show.

Wow, this was hilarious. I had my doubts for this new series, not being sure if it was a continuation or a remake, and was a bit concerned abut what things, if any, they changed, but it really has turned out better then I could have hoped for. Already, comparing just the quality of the comedy and writing, this episode has topped many from the previous series. I’m not sure what animation style I prefer right now, this one isn’t necessarily bad, but since it’s different it seems a bit weird. Still, for the most part this was great and lives up to the first series’ comedy and overall greatness.

The main thing I was worrying about with this series was if they were going to end up repeating the same events that happened in the first season. If they did, it would have really just plain failed. It’s not different enough from the original series that it would be interesting to do the same thing over again. However luckily it seems like this episode pretty much left off right where the old series ended, the same time of the year, the same developments with Mako and Touma already cross-dressing, and so on. With that fear out of the way it really seems as if it will be great. For the most part, since nothing has really changed such as ages or personalities, and so on, this really is essentially a second season, and not a remake of the first.
