Two months after Yoshiyuki’s disappearance, Otome and Yume try to live like normal even though they still remember him.

Impressions:

I thought this episode was great. I was a bit skeptical on them having Yoshiyuki return at first, since it would be the clichéd dues ex machine type ending where everything returns to the way it was, however it ended up working rather well and although I thought some of the sacrifices and events throughout the series would be cheapened by him coming back, they weren’t.

At first I was really worried about the romantic aspect to the conclusion. After all, both Yume and Otome had both confessed to Yoshiyuki, and he didn’t really say yes to one of them as opposed to the other. It was still open ended as to who he could end up with. Although I usually like for them to actually conclude the romantic progress they make, I was pretty much fine with the way things went. It was a big enough event for them both to announce their feelings and for him to come back, plus since this is adapted from a game there really isn’t one set girl who is supposed to win, the way they left it the anime version could easily end up wither either or the sisters, which is interesting.

Final Words:

Wow, its hard to express how surprised and impressed I am with this series in general. I was expecting this to be similar to the first season, focusing on some rather unimportant things and eventually ending up with one girl. However I never expected it to be filled with such interesting plot, huge emotions, and just great moments. This really was very similar to the first Da Capo series in its quality. The story revolving around the magic tree was very interesting. It really seemed like Yoshiyuki and Otome were completely screwed and there was nothing that could be done. Having the situation turn that dire really made this series interesting. I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode time and time again.

I thought the ending was great. I had originally thought the actual end of this series was last episode, episode 12. When I saw that episode, and believed it was the last episode I was stunned. Then I learned it wasn’t’ the last episode, so I effectively got to experience tow different endings since I didn’t know beforehand. I do have to say that although a tragic end may be good for some shows, I liked its happy ending so much. Hell, I don’t even mind there was no definite romantic conclusion between Otome and Yume, I’m just happy he came back. This series still has a lot of dark story to it, after all Sakura and Junichi still sacrificed their life. I’m very impressed with everything really.

Impressions:

Wow…. That episode was amazing. I’ll talk about the show in general below, and the ending, but despite how it turned out it was certainly emotional. I was very impressed with how many of these scenes had great emotional investments in them. It wasn’t just the characters crying, after having gotten o know these characters this show did a great job of making you care about them being sad.

I thought the bit with Yume was done really well. I’m glad there was more depth to it then just her liking him. Its one thing for her to like him and know he’s going to disappear, but I wouldn’t have guessed she knew he was going to disappear form a long time ago. To love someone but know they would disappear is horrible, as you can’t do anything with them knowing it would just cause you and them more tragedy, plus the general fact they are disappearing. I feel very sorry for her.

Yoshiyuki tries to deal with his eventual fading from people’s memories as the magic of the tree wears off.

Impressions:

Wow this episode was great. They did a wonderful job really making it emotional. It’s always a sad subject in anime when they show someone has been erased from everyone’s memories, especially after you’ve seen them be such good friends with those people. It was a very sad episode seeing all that happen. I almost couldn’t bear everyone not knowing who he was. It was also really sad seeing the magic affect Anzu. She was one of the people who had made a wish so she doesn’t have a memory deficiency. There weren’t many people who were affected by the magic as far as we know, unlike in the previous Da Capo, but Anzu was one of them and it was sad to see her memory go too. Right now things seem kind of hopeless for Yoshiyuki. The tree is already gone, everyone has forgotten who he is, and bring the tree back would just bring back the problems. It seems like, on paper, there is no way for him to still exist. I’m really curious as to what will happen. I severely doubt this show willed n with him disappearing, they’ve got to find a way to save him and I’m really curious as to how.

I’m a bit uncertain how the romance is going to be concluded. I could easily accept it either way, if he ended up with Yume or Otome but I desperately hope he ends up with one of them. I have a feeling however that nothing will really be resolved in that end. Things will probably return to the way they were before. While I won’t hate the show for doing that, they are dealing with a really interesting story involving him just staying in existence, it would be better if they concluded with one of the two girls.

Impressions:

This episode was pretty good. It’s continuing with the really great quality that the previous episodes have had regarding the seriousness of everything. I still am surprised and amazed at this show for having that level of drama and so far it hasn’t’ died down, and I don’t expect it to for the rest of the series. There isn’t much more to say, this episode was great just like many of the previous ones. It didn’t actually advance things along too much, but it wasn’t boring either. They handled the focus on Yoshiyuki learning the truth rather well. I thought it was a great scene when he was there talking to Sakura and thought it was very sweet and heart harming the way he called her mom and comforted her.

It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of Yume seeing all this going on. Until now her part in the entire series has been rather minimal mainly because of her not being included in the magic part of it. Since this season has a HUGE emphasis on the magic aspect, that means she is kind of out of luck. However now that will hopefully change now that they’ve shown she was there at the tree. In fact, that may be partially related to her vision she had before. It still seems like she has a bigger part to play and this will likely help jump to that point.

Otome sees that Sakura’s sacrifice has done nothing to stop the mysterious accidents around town and tries to figure out what has to be done without sacrificing Yoshiyuki.

Impressions:

Wow…for lack of a better phrase…the shit has really hit the fan. I can’t believe how good this season has become. It’s nothing like the previous season with rather unimportant focus. We’ve already had two people more or less die for nothing because there are still things happening that are causing serious accidents that could kill more innocent people and the only way to stop it is for someone to kill the guy she loves. That premise is pretty damn serious. Now, fitting with the nature of this series though I doubt things will be that grim in the end but it’s still nice to see things be this series and dark. I’m very impressed and am on the edge of my seat to find out what happens next.

I think this episode has pretty much guaranteed that Otome will be the one who ends up with Yoshiyuki in the end. Although I previously thought it would. Be Yume, they haven’t continued with the big Yume drama very much compared to how much focus Otome is getting. Plus not only is Otome being included in this rather emotional part of the plot, but she has also realized herself the kind of feelings she has for Yoshiyuki. Previously I thought it might be Yume because while Otome was being included more, Yume was showing more romantic focus. However that’s kind of changed with this episode and now I’d be shocked if she didn’t end up with him. I still think we’ll see some kind of development with Yume, as there was some vision of her leaving which may actually come true if Otome will be with him, but any conclusion to her we’ll see will likely be her not ending up with Yoshiyuki.

Impressions:

Wow……….This episode was absolutely incredible. First off there is the HUGE bombshell that Yoshiyuki was created by a wish Sakura made and then we get Sakura sacrificing herself more or less to save his life all in one episode. I could see this kind of development being the main story of the season, but we still have plenty of episodes to go. I can’t wait to find out what more there will be.

Yume seemed to have a very important part in this episode that wasn’t concluded at all. It didn’t involve the other stuff going on, but we saw what seemed to be another vision of hers of saying goodbye to Yoshiyuki. She had the vision and Yoshiyuki saw it since that’s one of his abilities to see others’ dreams. That’s why she was acting all nice, because she didn’t want to leave with being mean to the one she likes. Still, I will be almost pissed off at the show if she actually does leave. I hope they can somehow change that. They have kind of stated how it’s impossible to change the future but it seems odd they would say that and then in the end indeed prove that right. I right now want Yume to e the one he ends up with, so I really hope she stays.

I have to say that in general I am just blown away impressed with this season and series. I never expected this to be this good. The first season wasn’t that great. Even disregarding any complaints about it ending too soon, which it didn’t since it has this season; it was still filled with mostly fluff. Some rather uninteresting development and happenings that progressed the story of some characters that in the end I didn’t really seem to care about. However especially after this episode of this season, I’m blown away. I couldn’t have even hoped for this season to be this good. I almost cried when Sakura disappeared into the tree. That’s a character I really care about. She was probably the most important character of the first season of the first series and was very important in the second season as well. Then in this series which is mostly independent due to the time gap, she reappears which was amazing to see. Then she is again the center of some of the stuff going on yet sacrifices herself. I just fell in love with her character and seeing her go like this was a major shock and really made this season all the more interesting.

The episode was good, it gave me hope for Yume being with Yoshiyuki due to her heavy involvement in this episode.

Impressions:

Wow, this episode was absolutely huge. I wasn’t expecting this series to pick up as much as it did. Certainly not this early on. This episode was big because they really got at what the problem was. The Da Capo series are really focused on magic and now that that is their main focus in this season it seems like things will continue to get interesting. However what I absolutely loved the most from this episode was the continual references to the fist Da Capo series. All the talk of the events being urban legends in this series’s time was great. It was so cool to see the series is more connected. Talking about a cat turning human, Yoriko, and someone reading people’s minds, Kotori. The one thing I’m still really really confused about is why the tree is in bloom right now. It was originally in bloom, then Sakura withered it, then Aisha restored it then she did SOMETHING that made the magic vanish. It was a bit unclear when she did it if she withered the tree or just made her memory vanish from others. It’s possible she just did the memory thing which would leave the tree around, but if she did the memory thing and wither the tree then something else caused it to bloom again.

I was very surprised to find out that Anzu had made a wish like that. I was a bit confused as to why her parents would leave her like they did but didn’t really think it was because of some memory problem. Although I don’t think this will play a huge role, it is still pretty damn important. Not really right now and not even for Anzu, but if they go though the series and eventually have to destroy the tree and wither it so its magic goes away, in order to stop all the bad things from happening, it would take away the wishes granted. It did in the first Da Capo, people lost the magic, so if they do it here then Anzu’s memory will go back to being bad and if they realize that themselves it will be interesting to see how they deal with that roadblock.

Everyone heads off to a ski trip and Yume starts to act weird, catching the attention of Yoshiyuki.

Impressions:

I thought this episode was pretty good. It had a mix of some more light moments and comedy with the general group of friends all being together for a long time but it also had an interesting serious focus regarding Yume. Even forgetting for a moment that Yume’s bit was dealing with some kind of supernatural ability just her general worry and isolation for everyone else and how Yoshiyuki cared about her was interesting. They seem to be giving Yume more focus then Otome right now, but that doesn’t really mean much in terms of who Yoshiyuki will end up with. On one hand its good for Yume, as she’s being included so has a high chance, but o the other end it could be considered getting Yume’s route out of the way so they can end up with Otome.

Regardless of who Yoshiyuki end sup with, Yume was given a much larger part with this episode. Not just her part in this episode, but this episode revealed something that will make her more important later on as well. Up until now it seemed Yume didn’t have anything to do with supernatural things yet she seems to have seen the future in this one. She mentioned how in the end you can’t change the future and I’m curious as to if she’s seen something else we won’t know yet and is worried about it. With this both Yume and Otome have something supernatural tied to them, making things all the more mysterious and interesting.

Impressions:

I liked this episode a lot; I still continue to like this show even though not many others do. I’m still completely unsure of who Yoshiyuki will end up with. Both Yume and Otome have almost equal chances, both of them having reasons why they would fit as the girl and both having reasons and scenarios for them to be content without ending up with Yoshiyuki. Yume of course has been showing feelings for him with things like pacing back and forth trying to get the courage to ask him tow k to school together, and no matter how clichéd it was It was incredibly cute to see her be shy and embarrassed about hinting at going around with Yoshiyuki, then when asked pretending like it would be a bother to her. However Otome got extremely emotional at the puppet show, and the puppet show’s story relates to what’s going on with Yoshiyuki and the two girls a bit, so that kin of emotional response indicates strong feelings with her.

They seem to be hinting at this higher going on little by little. Sakura seemed deeply concerned about something and she’s the most magically involved of any character so she would be able to sense or know something about what’s going on. However knowing this show it’s likely that they won’t say or reveal anything until the last two or three episodes, just hinting at things until then. However I still find the other stuff involving romance to be interesting enough.
