Inuyasha – Final Act – 05

Inuyasha goes to train with a Demon King to learn how to use his newly powered Tetsusaiga.

Impressions:

I thought this episode was interesting. This has actually been one episode where they didn’t actually have a lot going on. Previously the episodes have really been this fast push to continue the story, while this one simply focused on Inuyasha effectively fixing his sword and making it more powerful. That’s not to say this is a bad episode. In fact it’s the complete opposite. I was surprised with how much I liked this episode, DESPITE it not going very far. There were some moments though, such as Sesshomaru facing off against Moryomaru. Though, right now it seems Sesshomaru is kind of undefeatable. Moryo just ran away, he’ll have to do a lot of gobbling up to be able to defeat Sesshomaru, and even then it seems futile since his sword is effectively a giant projectile Wind Tunnel that can take in anything without risk to the user.

I’m really interested in finding out what this final stage of Tetsusaiga is. Obviously it will be something that they will have to deal with, as they obviously wouldn’t have mentioned it unless they were going to deal with it. This show, like most shows similar to this, have a pattern of causing the main character to be strong, and then run into a stronger enemy, get a new weapon, and go on until a stronger enemy comes along and he has to get a new power up. It’s a constant cycle that is done in pretty much every anime with fighting in it, so we’ll just have to wait until Inuyasha runs into a bad guy that won’t be defeated despite the recent power up and boom, new form/stage of Tetsusaiga. The fact that they mentioned it beforehand though did kind of piqué my interest, as it seems to allude to the sword having that form rather than just cheaply throwing it in because they need it to defeat the last guy. I’m sure, for the final push season that they won’t need the power up until the very last or maybe second to last baddie they fight, and at this point, that seems a bit unknown as to who exactly will be last and so on.
