I have to say this series started off quickly and really tried to get into things. While having an episode or more of introductions wouldn’t be fun it probably doesn’t help to rush a series right out of the gate. I’m uncertain how many people grasped the main characters names before bodies started hitting the floor. This show is being covered by someone that didn’t see the source material so I’m not sure how well they are getting the general feel of the story. I do think there is potential with this group so it should turn out alright.
Impressions:
I think the OP managed to capture how this is going to be a struggle for the characters. The struggle will most likely be in surviving what is happening to them and finding out the truth behind it. Sometimes you don’t have a choice but to try and figure things out while bullets are flying over your head. I’m assuming that Battler and the rest of the kids will be the more key characters in this, but really the adults or the servants could be the biggest factors before this show is done.
I’m only starting to get a feel for the characters and hopefully they survive long enough for me to understand them better. Battler certainly has a perverted side to him, but also seems capable of thinking about important things. Maria seems to be a wild card since I can’t tell if this kid is crazy, disturbed, or able to see things clearly and is simply misunderstood. George seems like a voice of reason while Jessica is right now just keeping Battler under control. It’s a little tough to care about characters when their futures are up in the air. If somethign happens your stuck mourning for them.
The music and animation doesn’t seem too bad at this point, but we’ll see how it holds up over the course of the show. This should be an interesting ride with some bloody events along the way.

True I’ve got to agree.. Though I don’t thik Maria’s crazy. If you look at the servants reaction that is..
