Arawn discovers a dark secret that the empire hides and Arthur plans to strike back at Lidia.
Disclaimer: I don’t feel like pretending I don’t know what is going to happen, and writing a section without spoilers and then one with them, as I’ve played the game. This post will contain massive spoilers to the whole plot. If you don’t want to be spoiled, then don’t read on. I won’t spoil anything simply for the sake of spoiling it, no needless spoilers, but they will be there. Final warning.
Well, I am glad that this whole Lidia thing didn’t turn out as bad as I thought it would. They seemed to effectively replace some of what Gaius did with her. In the game they kind of raided the city and Gaius was in charge, getting pissed off at them and then there was just this back and forth between them. I still think that would have been better as it develops Gaius and just the connection he has with this battle that is going on, but at least the actual events didn’t change TOO much, they just changed what Imperial they happen with.
Things seem to have come to a good place with Octavia as well. Although her introduction was HUGELY different from that of the game, she still kind of wound up with Arawn in the same means. They found out about the corpses, Arawn knows if Octavia goes back she’ll be used as another corpse, and so on. However things didn’t quite resolve in this episode so I’m kind of concerned if Octavia will join as just a soldier or if they will stick with the game and have Octavia misunderstand Arawn’s words, thinking he’s proposing to her. It was one of the better parts other game how all these women were not just with Arawn but were effectively officially his wives. Octavia joining that group was a good part of everything and I hope they don’t ignore it. They are making a lot of changes while at the same time still being somewhat the same overall with the game, but the Octavia thing is a small enough they may change but really, although it seems small, it does amount to something a bit bigger, which is why I don’t want them to do anything.
I’m most concerned with Taliesin though. It’s fine if they tweak Octavia’s story a bit but I still strongly believe Taliesin is one of the most important characters ion the whole game. He single handedly saves everyone’s life like three times plus a big sacrifice. If they mess him up I’ll be seriously pissed as I really think it will affect the integrity of the overall story.
