Have to say Birdy’s past was a pretty sad affair. Wasn’t sure what to expect when they decided to take a dive into her memories, but it really turned out well in developing her. The fate of an Iksiola is a little sad when you think about it. From the moment they are born there is only one real path open to them. With the power their bodies have they need to join the police or a career along those lines. Also having marionettes like Violin created to care for them, since technically they don’t really have parents.
Not surprised Birdy painted Violin as more human than she really was. She saw Violin as a parent so her memories changed a little from the reality. Still Violin came to save Birdy when it came down to it and Birdy did love her. Just feel bad that she had to see Violin get beaten like that and then snap. Perhaps the one positive is that Tsutomu and Birdy should be a bit closer now. Tsutomu can now understand what Birdy has gone through.
Overall it was a good series of episodes. Get a fuller understanding of the world Birdy came from and even her past with Nataru. Of course that makes it a bit sadder since you have to expect they will have to fight at some point.
