Guy’s memories are restored and Arietta takes another attempt at revenge.

Impressions:
Reminds you how fast the series is going when each episode seems to bring a revelation or two. Guess they didn’t have too much time for Natalia to be feeling bad about her situation. Pretty quickly got herself pulled together and showed some strength to keep on moving despite what happened. Not an easy thing to deal with your father ordering your execution after all. But will always be a chance for her to talk with him again and hopefully get the man to understand things. Can’t just let the score or a lack of blood say where your relationship is supposed to be. A father should do better and there is no excuse for his behaviour last episode.
Curious about Asch though. We saw him in some pain which usually accompanied Luke getting some communication. Clearly it wasn’t from Luke though in this case since we would have heard words or seen Luke’s side of things. So someone is likely coming into contact with Asch for some reason. Guess we’ll have to wait a while though before we get any answers to that.
Obviously the major part of this surrounded Guy. While they were both from Hod this episode confirmed a close relationship between them. It’s just too bad that they are clearly moving in different directions. Van seems determined to get revenge for Hod and has no problem creating a replica to replace those who were lost. Guy on the other hand knows that replicas won’t be the same people and doesn’t want any part of it. While its good he decided not to join Van, I’m a little disappointed with Guy. Here was the best chance they have had to capture Van and make him stop. Instead Guy agrees to the foolish idea of meeting Van alone to talk about things. A little can be said also to Jade who followed but didn’t do a thing about the situation. Should have gotten the others to come and went after Van. Still it was a shocking situation when his memory came back. It just shows the cruelty of people when they slaughtered his sister and the maids like that. No wonder the guy built up a phobia after that event. Hidden underneath bodies for some time and then getting away would scar anyone.
There are also questions coming up about Tear and Van’s connection to the Passage Rings. It seems both have the ability to affect them since Tear was clearly related to what happened at the end of the episode. Not much right now but also getting Luke and Tear closer. Pretty obvious at least how some pairings will line up.
Well they did make the attempt to paint Anise in a better light. At least can see why she is saving up so much money. Her mother is completely useless in that she gives everything up and figures the score will allow her to lead a peaceful life. Anise has a different opinion and so money is her chief priority. While it doesn’t excuse her at least you can see why she is always sucking up to the wealthy. The irony of Arietta while trying to avenge her ‘mother’, hurting Anise’s mother was not lost on me. I can’t really blame Arietta for coming back again and again. The liger situation was one that I didn’t like that much at all. Just doesn’t seem like a character whose actions are always focused on revenge will have a happy ending.
Right now the group has a goal to move toward. Trying to save the lands already in the Qliphoth is a good idea and at least is better than sitting around. Still a war is being fought and Van is on the loose. So it’s definitely not an easy road for the group to walk upon.
