Luke commits an act that can not be undone and learns a disturbing truth about his origins.

Impressions:
Now this is what I’ve been looking forward to. No not the annihilation of a city and thousands of lives, but Luke’s falling to Earth…I mean Qliphoth. This had to happen for him to grow as a person at all. Sadly it meant the deaths of thousands of people will sit on Luke’s conscience. I’m not saying Luke is completely responsible for this disaster and no one else had a part to play. Van is the majority player in all of this. He kidnapped Luke all those years ago and created a replica that he could manipulate to his ends. His intentions were in place long before anyone else would have had a clue. Also responsibility could be put in Jade, Ion, and probably Tear since they knew or suspected Luke’s origins. Though only Tear had a clue that Van was up to something, but even she didn’t think he’d do this. Jade and Ion knew about Luke being a replica, but they had no reason to say anything. Ripping away a person’s identity and telling them they are a replica of someone else isn’t a thing you say without reason. Ion as well accepted that he played a role in what happened. He accepted that he was the one who destroyed the barrier that let Van and Luke in. It’s not like Ion was saying he had no role to play in what happened.
Luke in the end will have to face all of this. He also didn’t have any trust in the others. There was no consideration to tell Guy or Natalia what Van was asking him to do. It didn’t mean he would have to tell them about fleeing to Daath. But in the end he put more faith in Van than anyone else. Natalia sure was trying to bring back the old Luke, but she was supporting him and trying to help him learn more. Luke said he didn’t see Guy as just a servant and yet he didn’t trust him enough. It’s not just what Luke did that had everyone upset at him. It was how he was acting up to the event and trying to push all responsibility off onto Van. Trying to run away from what he did looked rather pathetic and its not hard to understand the others. I understand why Luke is the way he is, but that doesn’t mean that he’s clear of any responsibility. He has the brain and body of a teenager and if he had the will could have educated him much more than he did. Instead he allowed himself to get arrogant and not think about his actions. Calling the suffering people dirty and being unwilling to lend a hand to help is just something I can’t condone. When I played that was something I disliked and that hasn’t changed when watching the anime.
Kind of find the connection with Mieu and Luke funny. I mean sure the scale is a bit different, but from Mieu’s perspective it really isn’t a bad comparison. Both committed terrible acts with powers they failed to control. Mieu led to the deaths of plenty of animals in the fire I would expect and eventually led to the deaths of the Ligers. Luke was manipulated by Van and ended up causing the deaths of the people in Akzeriuth. Both are terrible tragedies and burdens those two will have to carry. Naturally Luke is the type to deny any connection between them. It would be interesting to see if his behaviour towards Mieu changes due to this event.
Finally Asch gets to come forward. Was nice to see him fight through the Oracle soldiers and head to the scene with Tear. Instead during the game the two just kind of showed up without seeing what was going on. Asch at least tried all that he could to stop it. Even if he had said Luke was a replica it would never had been believed. He just didn’t show up quickly enough to stop it. Though its true he and Luke are connected like that with both being grabbed by birds without their consent. Though Asch managed to free himself and arrive at Yulia City. Next episode looks excellent and I can’t wait to see it. Finally we’ll get some answers of what happened all those years ago and see how Luke became Asch the Bloody.
Yeah if we haven’t figured that part out with Asch calling Luke his replica there is no hope for knowing it. I liked the fight at the end. Felt it was stupid that during the game when playing as Luke you could win the fight. I mean really what sense does that make? Luke is freaking out about the deaths at Azkeriuth and then finding out he is a replica. Even though Asch is pissed off at Luke his skill and sense should make it a fairly easy win for him. I’m sure Asch was looking forward to dropping the bomb on Luke. Honestly Asch is one of my favourite characters from the game. Can only imagine how he felt about being kidnapped by Van and having his identity ripped away from him.
Still plenty of questions out there, but now a definable enemy is there. Why would Van destroy Akzeriuth? I don’t think the people of that city did anything to deserve annihilation. All of that will be answered fairly soon. But now Luke has to deal with who he is and what he has done. That is unless Asch kills him and takes the lead role for himself!

Well, at least Tear hasn’t given up completely on him. Let’s hope it doesn’t take a slap to get Luke to grow up. I hate slaps. :-(
@Azuka:
How about a dagger?
@Setsu:
Well a dagger would certainly make an impact at any rate. Be nice if Luke can get it going on his own without one of those cliche slaps that solve it all. Besides he’s gotten quite a few mental blows with the news about being a replica so shouldn’t be too necessary.
@Setsu, Flareknight
Forgive me for being inept, but what part would a dagger play?
@Azuka
Well I don’t think its a bad question to ask. A thought that quickly came to mind was considering he was part of so many deaths a dagger to finish him off might not be unwarranted. Though you can also see Tear giving Luke a dagger in the preview and that will play a part of him stepping forward. The role of said dagger can’t really be explained in great detail without giving away what should be a fairly important part of the next episode.
@FlareKnight:
You do realize what I was referring to when made that question about the dagger?
