The God Generals attack and Luke must deal with the consequences of fighting.

Impressions:

Show is still moving along well and its nice to remember all these moments after playing the game. I’m not that surprised with Luke’s behaviour in this one. Its one thing to fight monsters you can put below people, but killing a solider is another thing entirely. Though he shouldn’t be too upset since that soldier would likely get himself killed at some point anyways. I mean anyone who gets run through by a guy with his eyes closed is clearly incompetent as a fighter. Now Luke has to deal with the realities of fighting and killing people. Pretty normal reaction for someone sheltered away. Suppose you could call it a little naïve as well that he trained with a sword and never considered that it could kill people.

Something that really stands out in this animated version is how moe Arietta is. Seriously the girl is cute and if I had my way would have replaced Anise. Just a cute look and voice that makes me feel bad for her being on attackers’ side. I’m looking forward to them talking about her past and connection to Ion. The God Generals did pretty good damage overall though didn’t get through unscathed. Largo got taken down by a Tear and Jade combo after all. It’s too bad for Jade that the Fon Slot Seal will make life pretty difficult for him. With his fonic artes sealed he’ll have to make do with his physical skills for the time being. Got a small appearance for Legretta who has a connection to Tear and we also got to see a bit of Asch. Not sure why they are hiding his face if they put him in the OP. At any rate the guy clearly didn’t care about taking prisoners and would have had Jade, Luke, and Tear killed right there.

Have to say Guy made some pretty good time getting all the way out there. Luckily for the group he did since with his help they could get out of there in one piece. Now getting to Baticul has a lot of importance. Luke certainly would just like to get back home, but also have a letter of peace to deliver. There are also hints at some problems in the Church with factions splitting between Ion and Mohs. As expected with this kind of series things are building up. Sadly for Tear she got injured at the end protecting a panicked Luke. Hopefully this situation will help him to deal with his fears and grow as a person.
