Agree completely about Rui. Its really been a waste so far I think. Its almost like they forgot he's supposed to have some sort of special ability. Hope they don't do something stupid like making that the focus of the final couple of episodes. So in the end he'll be important at the start, at the end, but just kind of there in the middle. The abilities of Midori and Ran have been given a lot of focus, but he's just not getting much.

Overall the episode leaves with mixed feelings. Surprised to find the brother wasn't dead to be honest. But good for him to hang in there. Though why they were keeping him alive is beyond me since it seems like a short term solution to just hold him there. Also the spirit of the daughter saving her father when he tried to commit suicide. What was the point? He's just going to rot in a cell for the rest of his short life. Or Ran's incredible logic. "I don't understand....but your still wrong." Just slap her on a debate team :).

Still enjoy these kinds of episodes a lot more than the normal stuff. Getting to use their abilities in tough situations and see how lives have been twisted by it. Villagers were a bunch of jerks who deserved what they got. Having an innocent kid die because they didn't want to treat her is just low.

Fairly good mini-arc I thought.
