Ran, Rui, and Midori go on a hiking trip where they find a deity statue that speaks to Ran.

Impressions:
This episode was pretty good. It seems to fit in with what I’ve figured the show out to be, having the three of them use their powers more or less to solve problems that aren’t necessarily dangerous. They pretty much just used their powers in this one to find out what the problem was. The rest of it was done without powers, researching and talking with the old man. There wasn’t a lot of mystery in it really, just them finding out this old lore that was true about two lovers. Although it wasn’t too exciting, the episode was alright because the love story was rather touching.
Although this episode was alright, I am a bit disappointed overall in the show for not having more overall plot connections. They set up something really interesting with Rui having powers that are different then the other two, being able to stop and amplify them. However beyond those introduction episodes they’ve behaved like he didn’t’ have any powers whatsoever. There have just been small unimportant mysterious. I don’t have a big problem with that, but they could at least throw in some relationship development if they are only going with the isolated incident stories.
