Ran, Midori, and Rui head to a mysterious village for vacation where mysterious and supernatural things have been rumored to be going on.
I thought this episode was great. It had some great moments in it, and it left a very interesting mystery to be wrapped up I wasn’t expecting for the mysterious and things that the three of them encounter to e so dark or serious. I thought that even with the rather serious intro episodes, some of the mysterious that they solve wouldn’t be this grave, but it’s really interesting to watch when they are.
Although I expect a lot of the small isolated mysterious to be interesting, right now there are a couple of things bothering me about the series. First, is that Rui seemed to have been pulled into this world of powers with Ran and Midori with no real introduction. I mean, I’m not sure if he knows he has powers and when this episode was beginning I was still unsure if he knew Ran and Midori had powers. That seems an odd thing for them to leave so unclear. Also, I have a bit of a problem with the way the romance is being handled. Right now I have very little hope for a lot of romance to develop; even given they have a pair set up like Ran and Rui. But Rui was called Ran’s boyfriend twice in front of the two of them and Ran didn’t get really embarrassed and try and say, “It’s nothing like that†or anything, which seemed odd since I don’t’ get the impression she’s told Rui her feelings at all, yet the both of them seemed unphazed by it. Still, there are some really good thing about this series like the rather dark focus and interesting mysterious, so it still has promise overall.
