Even though they are “going out” it’s just because she wants him to relax, not because of romance.
Impressions:
This episode was interesting, but albeit a bit disappointing. Even though it had some big moments like Hikari asking to go on a date with Kei and Kei kissing Hikari, it seemed like it still didn’t mean much. That’s kind of odd to say considering this show has had very very little progress with the romance situation and then this episode had someone asking another out and a kiss, however they still managed to effectively ruin that. They made it into no big deal by Kei joking around after the kiss. The kiss isn’t important, it’s supposed to be the feelings conveyed because of the kiss; however they effectively just had the kiss. Until Hikari actually gets it though her head that Kei really does like her, the show isn’t going to be that high on my list of good shows.
I am curious if the date Hikari promised will end up having any affect. It’s kind of the last hope I have for anything that will cause some good development. Other then that this show can only really be based on random comedy stuff, and seeing as how this had a good romance potential that other quality isn’t that great.

Well guess we’ll see how things go. Was a nice bit to find out why Kei has fallen for Hikari. Sure you got some hints here and there, but now it really got cleared up. Now we’ll see if he can do anything to get through to her. Do think she is getting it a little better as time goes on. But with Hikari its really hard to say.
And please never let Hikari near a kitchen. I feel for those who have to repair it.
