Macross Frontier – 07
I’m almost a bit reluctant to do this yet again, but Macross has just blown me away with its quality. It truly is the one show I look forward to the most. While several other series have their high points, and have great episodes, there is no where near the consistency that this show has. At least for now, this show still deserves the award, even with it being several times in a row which would actually hurt its chances because id be more inclined to give it to others, it still end sup getting it.
This episode was great. It had some great romance development with Ranka finding out she wasn’t informed of Altoh going off and Sheryl was, great action with Altoh diving headfirst into the enemy fortress, and big plot development with the appearance of supernatural aspects coming from the songs Ranka and Sheryl were singing.

I totally agree. This episode was just epic.
Was an outstanding episode with so much going on. The action of course was huge as some budget was really put into this one. The battle really showed a few different scales from the small fighters onwards. Also the situation on the romantic front while Altoh was separated physically it doesn’t mean nothing was going on. Tough on Ranka that she didn’t get to find out about these things until the concert. Ozma only leaves a message that reaches her much later than he leaves and Altoh didn’t say a thing.
Anyways, I’ve been looking forward to the episodes with this series as well. A few shows I’ve really liked, but this one is right up there.
While this episode was indeed cool, I’m getting a bit put-out by the fact that every fight has a Sheryl song with it. It was okay with the first few episodes but if they continue like this none of the fights will be considered too serious =/. Sometimes its the standard battle sounds that make more impact, and with a pop song playing in the background the seriousness of the fight seriously drops =/. Course this is probably just me – but that’s definitely how I see it.
