Yoshiyuki recalls the events of his childhood when he first met Yume and Otome and was taught magic by Junichi.

Impressions:
I absolutely loved this episode. I know a lot of people seem to really hate Da Capo but at this point I just don’t care. I like it, and this episode was great. Even though it may be the clichéd kind of episode showing how he met everyone, like several anime have, it was still really interesting. It was a lot more interesting then I thought it would be. So far there isn’t too much interesting things going on with Yume. She still seems more Nemu like then Otome, yet Otome has a much bigger part and connection to Yoshiyuki. Plus, it was really cool to see Junichi in this episode. As a fan of the previous Da Capo series, seeing that was pretty cool.
I’m unsure of who Yoshiyuki is going to end up with. I don’t think they are even going to bring Nanaka into things, as I guess that one episode she had last season was enough. It seems like the show will boil down to Otome or Yume, and I’m not sure which. It’s a Da Capo anime so a non blood related sister would be obvious as his girl, but there are two of them this time. I can see it both ways. He could be with Yume but still help Otome with the magic stuff and be there for her or Yume could be disregarded seeing as Yoshiyuki has a deeper connection with Otome, even despite Yume’s feelings. It could go either way, so in cases like this I’m always interested to see how it plays out. Otome’s bit could conclude with the conclusion of the arson thing. That seems to be a problem Yoshiyuki will help her with. That could either bring them closer or could end Otome’s involvement, leaving room for Yume.
yep, it was great to see Junichi :D
I was like OMG when I saw how old J’unichi was o0… If you compare him and Sakura by age, no way would you think they were both about the same age group. Ah and Suginami as well… HOW IS HE STILL IN SCHOOL!?
WHERE IS NEMU?!
I have a sinking feeling that these arson cases are gonna end with that wishing sakura tree.
Well, Sakura doesn’t age - she could end up being a thousand and still look the same. Da Capo II takes place 53 years later. I’m pretty sure its not the same Suginami, probably a descendant or something and Nemu could be dead from old age or just off wherever her and Junichi live now.
