Kotoko sets a goal of getting into the top 50 for the upcoming midterm, and blackmails Naoki into tutoring her.
Impressions:
I have definitely fallen in love with this show. Even though I still really hate Naoki, this episode was just so much fun to watch. I’m not saying its perfect, but its not like Naoki being an asshole is a flaw of the show, that’s how its set up and I am finding it a bit interesting how there is some serious focus on Kotoko liking him even though he hates her and is mean to her. There is a lot of potential for some really interesting serious drama. I don’t’ think we will really see a lot of that right away, it will likely be a lot of comedy with Kotoko’s stupid friends and more of the same old Naoki ignoring Kotoko blah blah blah. However I really feel it could have some great drama and I hope we can at least see some of that.
I loved the cross-dressing bit. The way Kotoko blackmailed him was awesome. This episode just in general had me really excited as I watched this. Even though this is only the second episode I got so excited and anxious, hoping she would get into the top 50 and was just in general really hyped up while watching this, which I didn’t expect to be. It has certainly caught my interest for now.
I’m still curious about the whole time thing. I’m almost getting the feeling the anime won’t deal with it. Unless this anime is over 24-26 episodes long, I doubt they would be able to successfully show a time span going over 10 years. So either it will end prematurely like many shoujo anime do with long manga series, or it will in fact go over 24-26 episodes.

So far this is number 1 this season followed by Kurenai at number 2… Kotoko is darned cute.
Agreed, this episode was simply hilarious, Kotoko totally owned Irie.
Yeah I just loved the blackmail. Normally I might have issues with it, but that guy so had it coming. He’d been pretty cold/jerk to her so a little payback is nice. Was a lot of fun seeing her personality during that kind of thing as well.
At least she is honest about her feelings. For some reason or another she is in love with the guy which just makes it tougher when he acts like that to her. Maybe she could have let it go, but did get to see some nicer sides to him.
That guy has a mother I’d be afraid of. She forced her kid to cross-dress for years to start off. Then she gives Kotoko blackmail photos and then takes some more pictures when they are asleep studying. Think we might get some sort of photo display at the end showing their growth.
Do wonder about the time skipping. If they want to do over 10 years, unsure how they are going to handle it. At any rate should be a fun series.
