Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de – Final Impressions

Well…this show was certainly…something. It’s one of those shows that didn’t turn out any different then what I would expect. Full of ecchi comedy and incredibly stupid and weird happenings. The show didn’t really try and be more then that, but that pretty much limits how serious anyone can actually think about the series. While it would not be anywhere close to what I would call “good” it was at least fun to watch in times, it was an alright time killer. Still, it was a bit nice to see things end all happily with the characters even if they were really shallow and stupid at times. The show was just fun to watch in the end.

One of the things that was…interesting to see was the way they tried to handle parodies. It seemed like they tired too hard or the approach didn’t quite work. Although there were plenty of spots where they would make jokes referencing other anime, especially anime that the seiyuus had parts in, but for some reason it didn’t feel as cleaver and intelligent of humor as some other shows that specialize in parody humor like Hayate. It just seemed like the amount of slapstick humor was too much for them to try and do much with the parodying. The general theme of having that kind of slapstick humor was alright for a show like this, but not when they were also trying to have some humor that takes a bit more intelligence.
