A new rival newspaper club appears and begins to steal all the readers from the regular newspaper club, causing Tsukune and the others to take action.

Impressions:
This episode was pretty good, which I’m a bit surprised about. When the episode first started, from the way things were going it seemed like this would just be a rather mindless episode, going back to the whole monster of the week thing. And while it was partially like that, dealing with spider girl and so on, they introduced a much bigger plot de ice that really was pretty big. Because of its introduction this episode was definitely far beyond the other monster of the week episodes they’ve had. It’s blatantly obvious that this organization will end up being the main big evil and conflict of the series. They’re shown in the end of the ED after all, so their importance was foreshadowed throughout the entire series. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle Tsukune, as they have a file on him but it obviously wouldn’t say he’s a human, as if the school knew he wouldn’t be allowed there. From the evil organization’s standpoint, not knowing your enemy like that would be a huge disadvantage, as Tsukune could turn out to be something even more terrifying then a vampire. He’s not really, but that could be part of the impression that organization has.
As for the episodes individual story, I wasn’t too impressed. They seemed like they were trying to mix in the plot device of introducing this greater evil and about dealing with the new newspaper club in the same episode, and it didn’t work out that good. Like I said the new bigger evil problem is interesting, but the bit with spider girl wasn’t that great. They would have been better off if they found someway to focus more on the evil of this organization and then perhaps comedy or romance then do the plot thing and this newspaper bit. Although partial there isn’t much they could do, after all it’s because of the newspaper club rivalry that the big plot stuff got started, but something about the individual story about spider girl didn’t sit right with me. The bit about this evil was definitely more interesting.

Do think the organization would be concerned. After all each of the other members have revealed themselves at one point or another. Since we haven’t had opponents being killed then they can talk about what happened. Could mean increasing the spot light on Tsukune which is the last thing that guy would want.
True not too much to say about the episode itself. Sure nice to see Kurumu in a maid outfit. Even if I really will always dislike the panty shot marathon, that kind of thing isn’t too bad as a rarity. Maybe the big thing was just the importance of the club to Kurumu. Someone who early on was just out to make the school her harem, but didn’t have much in terms of friends. But now she’s put this club together with everyone and will fight to protect it.
Anyways, looking forward to the coming episodes. Will be some good times.
