D. Gray-Man - 66

Allen gets frustrated and depressed when he’s unable to activate his Innocence for any longer then his previous attempts.

Impressions:

This episode was alright, it was kind of nice to see them switch back to Allen since they hadn’t really detach him something was nice too. They hadn’t dealt with him in a while, but for the most part this episode seemed rather pointless. Well, maybe not pointless, but nothing really ended up happening overall. He’s just kind of got new determination for doing this, which is exactly like some of the things we’ve already seen before. They’ve pretty much already given him some motivation to do better and nothing has happened, so really until something actually changes all of Allen’s segments really aren’t that interesting.

It was interesting to see Fou care about Allen like she did. The way she stood up for him to try and keep him from leaving was pretty cute of her, and her general conversation with him in order to teach him something was interesting. She really hasn’t gotten any development asides form this, although eve this development is kind of shallow. She seems like she has some pretty serious and interesting character possibilities that we’ll see later on, so I’m kind of waiting for that.

The scene at the end was pretty interesting Seeing as how there wasn’t really any big progress with the rest of the episode, it stood out a bit more. All it seemed to do was state that Tyki was sending someone after Allen, but of course the more interesting part was that the Earl actually said Allen was an Akuma. I’m definitely surprised at that a bit, I knew it was different and special but I wasn’t quite thinking that he would be an Akuma. The only way I can think of that being true was that Mana is kind of using Allen like other souls called back use the bodies of people they killed, only Allen isn’t dead he’s just sharing it with Mana. However if Mana isn’t in control of himself then even if he may be an Akuma there is pretty much no point in it except for the technical correct term to label whim with. Anyways, it will be interesting to see what this will mean later on.

Well not a bad episode. Shows that the situation is pretty serious with some wanting Allen out of there since it puts a bulls eye on Asia HQ. Somewhat amusing to hear that Fou has used that transforming ability a few times before, can anyone see her pretending to be Lenalee to mess with Bak’s head? :).

Was a little bit of development for Fou, though that has me worried. Whenever they start fleshing people out something bad seems to happen. With a level 3 heading out to China she’s going to be in for one dangerous fight. Probably a good enough reason for Allen to finally break through and get his innocence going. Still not bad to show how she’s started to feel towards Allen, which is bound to happen when your spending hours upon hours with someone.

On the Akuma point. Thought he was tossing it out like Allen is a monster that will just keep coming for them. Obviously he’s not an akuma exactly we’ve gotten enough stuff to make him human. With the innocence restoring his heart which a soul in a metal frame wouldn’t have. Guess we’ll get something more concrete eventually with that.

The preview though was just massive. Two level 3 akuma, plus Tykki, plus the Earl, against Lavi, Krowy, and Panda…Lenalee still isn’t in any shape to fight and just one level 3 would be incredibly bad. Unless Cross or Kanda’s team shows up someone could get killed here.

There is something else I want to add on the Earl’s conversation with Tykki at the end of this episode.

Like both manga and anime, at that scene the Earl told Tykki, “The Innocence will do anything to stop us for it is an akuma (devil)”.

I infer that from the Earl’s pov the Innocence truly is a devil against himself and the Noah clan.

I don’t really think that Earl refered to Innocence being a demon. I guess since you’re not reading manga, I am not gonna spoil it, but they will reveal soem things about Mana and how exactly they are related. It is still not clear though, I am not really sure myself:)
