Otoha and the other Sky Girls receive notice to meet at the base for a reunion half a year after they have defeated the WORMS.

Impressions:
Although overall this series wasn’t the best in my opinion I did absolutely love this last episode. I’ve said this on nearly every final episode post I’ve done I think but I love epilogues, and seeing as how this series had an entire episode that was an epilogue was great. Seeing all the characters and what they were doing after the WORM event was great, and then having them meet again for a reunion was very cool as well.
There’s not much to say other then that, this episode was really completely epilogue and the only thing they left as a “cliffhanger” from the last episode was Aisha’s condition, which they dealt with here. Apart from Aisha there wasn’t anything that was new information that had an impact on the previous events. Still, it was a great epilogue.
Final Words:
It’s a bit hard to come up with something to say about Sky Girls overall just because I personally really found that it wasn’t that interesting. I’m not saying it was terrible or anything but it also wasn’t that great. The thing that really REALLY hurt the show for me was the fact that 90 percent of it was filler. I’m a lot more lenient on shows then others and some filler is okay, the show doesn’t have to be all action and plot, but even the fluff episodes where nothing really happens have a bit of a limit to it. Really as far as overall encompassing plot goes this show didn’t fare too well. I mean, they had the entire final fight in one episode. Not the final fight as in the core in this case, but they had flying into the enemy “base” encountering final enemy, trying to defeat it, and wrapping up the plot about Otoha’s brother. Prior to that it was still not really moving fast at all. I know there are a lot of people who like this show a lot but honestly….I don’t see why. Like I said I’m not necessarily saying it’s a bad show but certainly it’s not great just for the fact that they had maybe a total of three episodes that dealt with the overall plot.
I am trying to give the show a bit of a break, because it wasn’t horrible. There are several shows that are much worse then this. It wasn’t so much bad as it was rather boring in a lot of places. However if you can accept the fact that the show had a lot of fluff episodes, and don’t really mind those, it was pretty average. Fluff episodes aren’t all bad and if you aren’t really wanting overall plot and just want several scenarios and events that the girls handle together then it was alright, but still not that interesting or spectacular.
Yeah not a bad episode. Shows that everyone is moving on with their lives and that’s fine. Eika still showing she can own anyone in a jet. Plus actually agreeing to join up with Togo while having a chance to join up with the Viper squad.
Have a new generation for rescue purposes and just did a fine job of closing out a series. Nice when shows put one or even two episodes to aftermath so its not rushed in the last few minutes.
Overall the series was alright. I mean they definitely wasted way too much time with some useless things. Could have tightened things up a little. You knew that it was going to be a long haul when they took so much time even introducing a threat.
But there were some good times so I don’t regret watching the show by any stretch.
