Everyone participates in the parade for the school festival, Shana and Yoshida both trying to win the contest in order to be able to talk in front of the school to Yuji.

Impressions:
This episode was great. I’m still surprised a bit by how much this series really draws me in and makes me care even when not much happens at all. Really, the only thing that happened in this episode was the cliffhanger at the end, the entire thing was them going around in the parade. Even the almost confession just happened at the end. However even though a majority of this episode was pretty much just dragging things out it had me very interested in what was happening. I’ve probably said this in 80 percent of my posts but I love romance in anime and I’m just ecstatic with the amount of focus this second season has put on romance. I nearly screamed out loud when Shana was interrupted form confessing to Yuji. Now it’s not going to happen fro some time because even after all this happens Yuji will likely ask what she was going to say and she’ll say nothing or something like that. GAH!
The other really big thing in this episode that just shocked me was when Konoe thought something was up when she saw the wind. When she saw the wind she freaked out like she knew what it was and that it meant something special in regards to all the mysterious things going on. I was surprised because even though there is obviously something suspicious about her looking like Hecate they haven’t really shown anything, not even to just the viewer, about her being anything other then human. Other then doubts and suspicions she hasn’t shown anything except for being more mysterious because of her being sick. But now this is an event that points to her knowing some hint, so it’ll be interesting to see if she plays a significant role in dealing with Pheles.
The next episode seems pretty massive. Just from the preview it says and shows that Pheles attacks, Margery finds out about the silver (or sees silver and thinks its someone, not necessarily finding out its Yuji) and what’s almost more surprising Tanaka sees Oga die, or at least burn in flames and such. I was expecting those first two to happen, the Pheles thing rather soon and the Margery finding Silver thing eventually but I didn’t really even think of them having one of the side characters die because of all that’s going on. It was sweet seeing Oga and Tanaka together both having feelings for each other and all and even though their relationship or just their overall point in the series wasn’t that big its still a sad and surprising thing for one of them to die. I wonder if they are going to come up with some way of saving her though magic, as it’s a possibility. Either way just the general topic of something like that happening is surprising and will be interesting. As far as the other things, it just seems massive that both would happen at the same time. I thought they would be dealt with separately but it really seems as if they are going to happen at the same time which makes things even more stressful.
Things definitely getting serious now. Did enjoy the episode probably because Shana makes a nice Dorothy :). Small things like hints of Satou still being a bit envious at how Yuji is getting stronger while he can’t seem to do anything right now. Plus having Kazumi again affirming how she feels even if Yuji still hasn’t made a choice. Though at least with Kazumi you can feel her distress at how close he is with Shana.
Honestly I’m worried with the Margery situation. Maybe the situation is bad and Yuji uses a fuzetsu to stop things and so the silver gets shown off. You know Margery will not wait for explanations and will just go berserk. Pheles attacking the stage sends everything into chaos. Shana, Yuji, and Carmel will be in a tough spot to try and handle this.
Worried about Oga. Hearing that in the preview made me pretty shocked. Since things have been fairly laid back in comparison to when the school got blasted by Friagne in the first season. Something scary is that in her fury Margery may be responsible. But will have to wait of course since we can’t jump to conclusions there.
Like that they are mixing the seriousness of the Flame Haze world with the romance. Both are important to me with this show. I like either side but if they focus too much on one and ignore the other it doesn’t feel quite right. Too bad we’ve got a Christmas hiatus for the next episode.
