Myself; Yourself - 09

Everyone goes to an amusement park for the day, and Nanaka tries to apologize for yelling at Sana the other day over his disappearance form her life.

Impressions:

I thought this episode was great; it had a lot of really good development even though it didn’t really have any super high tension drama scenes in it. It seems like this is how the series will be for a majority of what’s left, probably until the end which I guess isn’t’ that far off. Although they are putting in a lot of character development it does seem to be rather slow, however it’s not really a bad thing. It’s really interesting to see things develop gradually instead of being forced upon the character by an extremely huge event. Even though last episode had a big event more ore less it didn’t change too terribly much, it just kept going with some gradual development and really I think it will be that way until the end, which isn’t a bad thing. It’s really interesting to see how Nanaka and Sana are coming together. There are obviously feelings for each other between the two of them but it isn’t really obvious in their actions. They not only have their feelings to deal with but just the topic of this huge traumatic even that happened to Nanaka. I really can’t wait to see more of this because even though they spent a majority of the series setting up the situation it’s not boring like other shows. For the most part shows that spend this much time building up to something without too much happening don’t turn out very well but this one has proved to be interesting none the less.

I was very surprised to find out that Nanaka’s uncle caused the fire. Although, technically they haven’t said that’s what happened it’s blatantly obvious from the clues, to the viewers at least. I was expecting Nanaka to regain some of her memories as they said certain things could trigger their return, but I assumed that it would just be Sana. After all, she wanted Sana the most when this was happening to I figured once they got closer things would come back and that would be the end of it, however now that those memories involve her uncle it adds a new level of problems to everything. It’s not just recover the memories but dealing with the fact it was betrayal from her family and not a random criminal, so I’m looking forward to how that ends.

Finally, they managed to sneak some Shuri character development into this episode, which I wasn’t really expecting. Although they already set up the fact that Shuri’s family life isn’t very good the fact they dismissed it so early made me think they weren’t going to spend too much time on it, but hopefully it does come though soon. I just hope it doesn’t interfere with the Nanaka and Sana story, as that’s more interesting.

Look closely at the kid with Hoshino, observe his hair color, and the fact that Hoshino seems to know why Shuri is crying…

Then go back to the OP where the twins are leaning against the grandfather clock with the outline of Hoshino crying…

Observe Hoshino’s hairstyle and that of the step-mom…

    Partially Solved!
