Da Capo II - 04

Koko and Yoshiyuki try and find time to spend together at the school’s sports festival, but keep being interrupted by everyone else joining in.

Impressions:

This episode was pretty good. It seems to be following along the lines of being rather light hearted, but it still is managing to be quite interesting. I know I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll do it again too, I guess because this series is related to another show I’ve already watched, and it opened with a confession right off the bat I expected every episode to be more intense and serious, following along those lines, however it hasn’t but it isn’t really bad though. I was expecting it to be different, but that doesn’t mean it’s currently bad. In fact, I really like seeing Koko and Yoshiyuki be shy around each other and have rather cute and sweet moments. They are doing a great job of balancing some light hearted romance with just comedy and everyday happenings. I think it’s a bit different form some other shows because it does have that romance aspect to it already in place, since they are going out not just both having feelings for each other. The way they are doing it is fine, although it’s nothing serious and the episodes seem for the most part to be rather fluff and unimportant, it’s still become very interesting and fun to watch.

Another thing that this episode showed that I have found very impressive is how much the show seems to be using all of the characters. Although there doesn’t really seem to be much competition for Yoshiyuki they are still including the other girls. Not as love rivals, but just as fun characters. Even the characters that I would consider to be completely side characters are included, such as the two white haired girls, which have actually become very hilarious and two of my favorite characters so far. I’m not quite sure how things may change if there ever does become some competition or drama between the characters, but even without it the characters are interesting.
