I didn’t really expect to like this much. Hell, if it weren’t for someone recommending it in my post where I announced what I was going to watch I wouldn’t have. (You better comment now since I watched it and am posting) Anyways, it seemed like just another shounen type series, and it may end up being so, but there was a bit of a different feel to it then some other shows I’ve watched. I did think it was a lot better then I thought, so I’ll keep watching this series. I expect a lot of fluff episodes though, dealing with the weird magic problem of the week type thing, but if they can make them interesting enough it may be fine.

Of course the immediate connection I made with this show is to D. Gray-Man. They both deal with more or less evil spirits or magical happenings, the main character has a weird eye, and the seiyuu for Lenalee is the same as the one girl who’s like a trainee. I kept waiting for her to yell Dark Boots Activate but she didn’t :D However, I do see where this show could e different, as it doesn’t seem the problems they deal with are all the same, like D. Gray-Man. They could do investigating in this and deal with all sorts of magic, where as in D. Gray-Man they just dealt with these particular demons. Anyways, it still has a lot of similarities.

I did find the tiny bit of romance humor at the end to be funny. Obviously the two girls care for the guy in some way, although I’m not quite sure what their relationship will be like in the show yet. Still, the way they both jumped to see if there was something wrong with him was great, and then when the other girl smiled at him and he smiled back I thought the scene where they both just walked backwards to confront him was pretty funny too. I don’t have too may high hopes for any serious romance going on though.
