Ikuto travels out to sea after the visit with the Sea Dragon god gets interrupted, and tires for it anyways despite Suzu’s concern.

Impressions:
I thought this episode was great. It really was a good ending of the series; as it had a lot of some of the romance and serious aspects that I had been wanting from the show, but it also did kind of keep with the comedy which of course is to be expected. However it was really done in a great way and I think everything mixed together. This episode while being the finale I would say has just in general been one of the better episodes. I just thought the whole theme of romance they had going was done rather well in this episode. There still wasn’t as much as I perhaps may have wanted to see, but a show seems to rarely have the amount I always want from it in that regards. Still, there were some great moments that added to this, it wasn’t just the bit between Suzu and Ikuto that I found enjoyable; some of the moments of the other girls realizing that they had to help Ikuto was great too. Although at firs they just more or less got in the way of Ikuto and Suzu and even the goal of him leaving the island, at the end when the grandma kind of lectured them it was an interesting moment that I think helped the series along the way.
As for the actual ending itself, what the series eventually led up to, I thought it was pretty good. Really it was what I expected it to be. It didn’t really think the show would turn out any other way, so really there wasn’t any surprise or suspense in the ending or really the series in general, yet it was still fun to watch. They did put together well some of the scenes at the end, just showing some of the determination and reason for doing what they were doing. I thought the kind of revelation of Ikuto that he belonged on the island was nice, and it was good that they actually resolved the issue with Misaki and everything. To just have him go back or stay in the first place wouldn’t have worked as well just because the mystery of Misaki would always be there. Although she was always find the whole time, putting some closure on both that issue and then just Ikuto’s path in general was good.
Final Thoughts:
Although I really did like the ending to this series, I by no means really view the entire series as being great. Not to say it was horrible, but it defiantly isn’t really a gem of an anime or one that I would really recommend it to people. It’s almost odd, the show had a really intriguing pull form the start, as it did draw me in and I remember really liking it. Although the show was nothing more than an obvious harem, one of the things that made it stand out a bit was that it didn’t try and be anything else. It wasn’t also a school romance story, it was purely a harem and most obviously centered on comedy. Being so obviously centered on comedy it was a bit easier to accept the show, seeing as it wasn’t really trying to be serious.
However, it almost seems as if a bit of the way though the series, the charm more or less wore off. Really, all of the episodes were pretty much fluff episodes, not really having too much continuity, all of them really being isolated. There were a few that had a kind of two episode arc, or some of the more important ones that introduced a new character, but beyond that they weren’t that important. So after a while, although a lot of the episodes had more ore less new content, it kind of got old fast without some real romance to string it together, and the show really didn’t have that. So although it was a good show, it’s just that good, not great, not super great. It really did seem like it kind of got old, and the comedy was there, was funny, but had really all been seen before.
I do of course have to point out one character in particular in this series, as I had constantly ranted about them in almost every episode they appeared in, and they truly were not just my favorite character but probably one of my favorite parts about the entire series. This of course is Machi. Now, I don’t love Machi just because she may be some cute or hot girl they showed, in fact she didn’t really have anything that physically about her that mad her stand out. Yet she was just freaking awesome and pure win. Her personality, attitude, and the way she handled situations was hilarious. She really was the funniest part of most of the episode she appeared in, as most of the good comedy came from her and considering this series was really mostly isolated fluff episodes, the main point of the series was comedy. She really was the highlight of this series as just watching everything she did was absolutely hilarious, the way she treated Ayane, her devious means to do things, as I said just pure win.
Misaki is really cute. I never expected Ikuto to have such a cute sister, now, the question on my mind is: Why would he leave his hot/cute sister on an island full of half-naked,(possibly) horny, faceless men? To leave off with a very disturbing note: Imagine Makoto from school days being there instead of Ikuto. Disturbing scene, ne?
Have to say thinking back to that episode I agree. What the heck was Ikuto thinking? Sure sounds like they treat her with a lot of honour but are you seriously that messed up man? Of course since I think this was an anime original ending they couldn’t go the logical route. Like say sending the boat to the island that had nothing but girls?
But wait that would cause Ikuto to lose his island sized harem. God knows that is far more important than his sister.
Also does the whole, he’s just going to be with Suzu thing seem stupid? That’s an island that is going to have a serious problem sooner or later. Unless he plans on having his kids sleep with all the girls he’ll have to get around.
Yeah this series really is better if you ignore any realistic thought.
Admit that island would be Makoto’s dream come true. Though I think the island would eventually self destruct as his gene pool would create an army of trash that would end up killing each other.
On the route of weird situations. How about Ikuto (older of course) and Moka from Rosario Vampire. She looks cute, he nosebleeds a ridiculous amount, she drinks it and thus no waste.
