Saito and Louise are sent on a recon mission, but Louise goes with Julio instead in order to save Saito from having to participate in war, giving Saito the wrong idea about her feelings.

Impressions:
I really love all of the focus they are putting on this whole issue of nobles and dying for reputation and dying for the princess and so forth. I think it really makes things interesting, as the problems that everyone is facing aren’t limited to just a particular enemy or anything, there’s the conflict with the enemy and then there’s also a conflict with the way society is set up. It really brings in a lot of drama and I’m finding that some of these moments when Saito is arguing about the way of thinking that Louise has are extremely interesting. The thing I want most of all in this series is for some focus on romance and they are really showing that excellently I think. They are making it more complicated then just Louise being too shy, they are making it about the royal status and that she is willing to do anything to be with him but Saito is under a different impression, and everything really. I’m very impressed with the way that they’ve handled the romance so far. I’m not even addressing Siesta either. She’s really only ever been something there for comedy really. Someone to put Saito in a situation where Louise will explode and so forth. However, even without her there the situation is so interesting that I really want to see more. It is definitely what I look forward to the most, as I don’t’ really care how the war ends; I care how the relationship goes.
The situation definitely seems to have reached a peak. I was a bit surprise how fast things seemed to escalade, but I do suppose they always were right in the middle of a war. I’m really anxious to see the next episode as it seems to have a lot of fighting and there was mention of a marriage. Now, I’m wary to get my hopes super high about the marriage thing, because the previews are often misleading in order to make things appear more interesting, but I can’t help but get a bit excited over that mention.
