It’s the last day of the festival and Kotonoha and Sekai both wonder about Makoto’s feelings, while it’s revealed the situation is more complicated then it may appear.

Impressions:

This episode was amazing. Although it’s still kind of focused on the chaos of the whole situation, it’s become much more focused on some of the drama and just how messed up the situation is. The involvement of Makoto having sex with another third girl is just…wow. I was not expecting that and I can’t wait to see what kind of effect this will have on everything. Plus, it’s also now involving another guy. I never thought Sawanga would have any real part in this series but now him liking Kotonoha may really affect things especially if she has more doubt of Makoto. Even if not, if something happens between them it will add another layer. Not only that but it will also really drag in the girl who likes Sawanga too. Things started off with an explosion of drama in this series and where many series end, it started. However now it’s still gone way behind that and my god it’s interesting.

I do have to say something about just the fact that more girls are getting involved in the story and it may be considered a “harem” there seemed to be a bit of a dispute over this in the comments from the last post. While this episode has certainly drawn in another girl into the picture, and although Setsuna isn’t as in it as the others she could very well become so. Even so, even if there are four girls who all have feelings for him that does not automatically mean that it is a bad show because it may fall under the category of harm. I would have to agree with Onitheris on a bit of what he said, although I may not quite have been so aggressive or offensive about it. However, just because a how is a certain genre does not mean you can judge it based on that. I mean, even if you were to classify this show as a harem, there is a big freaking difference between many other harem shows. Nagasarete is a harem; does that mean it is similar to this show? My god no. It’s different in almost completely opposite ways. This show still maintains a very high level of drama and complexity to the relationships of the characters, and whether that involves one girl or four, it is still interesting. Just because it’s not longer only featuring Sekai and Kotonoha doesn’t mean that they aren’t still the most important and it doesn’t mean that the show has dropped in quality or anything. My god, I loved this episode. It’s brought a whole new degree to things. He now has kind of betraying both Sekai and Kotonoha now and a wider array of options. People also have to remember this was based off a game. I’m sure that Setsuna and the pony-tail girl (sorry, don’t remember her name) were both very legitimate choices before and likely had just as interesting of a story. Still, the fact that they have managed to include drama form both of them when focusing on other girls is great. It’s not clear cut on who he is going to pick precisely because of their influence.
