Iori goes out on a test mission to see if she will be able to pilot Nebula, now that Makoto has left and Nebula is without a Master.

Impressions:

I thought it was pretty interesting to see some more back story about Iori. They really hadn’t done much with her character or anything in depth about why she’s at Modenkind or anything like that. Although, really she hasn’t shown that there was that much mystery to her personality either. Still, it was in the end very interesting to watch. I hadn’t really ever thought of Iori having some kind of background. She didn’t seem to be troubled by things in her past like the others have been, so I figured nothing really happened. Even though some huge traumatic event didn’t happen, actually showing that and showing that she met Nebula when she was a kid and all was pretty interesting and I think really makes her character just a bit more interesting, even if again it wasn’t some traumatic event like losing your sister or something.

The relatively new guy who came from Modenkind HQ or that other branch of Modenkind is really starting to bug me. Something rubbed me the wrong way about him when he first showed up as well, but I’m a bit surprised that his character hasn’t gone away or even attempted to redeem anything about him. He’s still really just a creep it seems like. Just the way he acts and especially in regards to Mizusa just kind of pisses me off and definitely gives him the feet of someone who isn’t exactly the most honorable of people. Now, he’s not only just being an asshole, but he’s really changing things and making things more complicated and not for the better with this whole Master Unison thing that he seems to be a fan of or not very worried about. I’m glad that the thing failed really because it wouldn’t be interesting if they had no need for the pilots. I just hope they don’t bring a newer and improved version back or anything and just go with the failure. Still, his connection to it and just his personality in general just makes him not a very nice character and I hope he dies or gets his ass kicked somehow.
