A new exchange student comes to the school and starts to show off, making Saito mad when he eventually starts making a move on Louise.

Impressions:

As I said last episode, I’m not too overly thrilled about this new character. I kind of guessed that jut from last episodes preview and this episode didn’t really do anything to extinguish this. I generally just don’t like characters like Giluio, character sin his position and with his personality. There’s just something about them, that they come in being all perfect and just completely taking away from the main character struggles really showing how they are all super good, kind of making the main character less important and any abilities they have are rather useless as well. Not to mention is point in any kind of hindrance to Saito and Louise’s relationship. There’s enough there without him to have some good content about their relationship and he just makes things even harder when they don’t really need to be. Overall, I don’t really like him. It’s not so much him but just the whole ole of his character. However, there could still be some redeeming things about him later so I really hope they cont include him very much, don’t actually have him show off as much, and eventually Saito better surpass him. Sure he won the duel in this episode, but I really want him to just kick his ass for real later, then and really only then will I be ok with his character. But again, it’s not to say he can’t become a bit more tolerable later.

I’m really looking forward to next episode. Although it seems lie this episode ended off with a bit of a cliffhanger, as the enemy started to reveal itself, I think the next episode won’t rally focus that way. As the preview showed it will deal with Louise’s sisters, which is something I’ve wanted to see pretty badly since it was mentioned they’d appear before the show aired. I can easily see the situations that it will bring, introducing Saito to the two of them, even just looking I can tell how the personalities will differ and just altogether it seems like something that will be really really interesting to watch. I really do hope that they will continue to appear past this one episode and that they don’t end up ruining the episode when it could be really good given the set up.
