Nanatsuiro Drops - 03

Sumomo runs into another mage when she is trying to collect a star drop who shows that she is much more powerful and knows what’s she’s doing, and that she will be her rival from now on. Her name is Fate Testarossa.

Impressions:

I have to mention the similarities of this show to another here, as this episode really put them just really high up there. Now, some people compared this to CCS which doesn’t really make too much sneeze at all. I was just stunned and laughed out loud at time sin the show when the similarities between this show and the first season of Nanoha kept coming. My god, there’s so many of them it’s not even funny. Well, actually it is funny, really funny as I’m laughing right now about all of them. “First off you have the main character with reddish hair and a companion of a small animal who has trouble over his human form trying to collect things. This main girl just recently got magic thrown hat her and isn’t perfect to start but shows she has tremendous potential for great things. The they run into a rival who is also trying to collect things who has been involved with magic longer and is better at it but doesn’t have as much latent magical abilities as the main girl. This rival of course has blond hair and a cooler less girly looking weapon. Her companion is a large dog like creature who can easily master its human form.” I mean, COME ON! That description right there in quotes could EASILY explain rather thoroughly Nanoha or this show. God, I can’t stop laughing at this fact, it’s hilarious. I don’t really know why this is so funny to me, but I just can’t stop laughing right now at this.

Similarities aside, this episode was very interesting and really added a bit more excitement to things….just like Nanoha did when they introduced Fate. Ok, sorry, enough of the comparisons. Still, things seem like they will defiantly get more interesting from here, as the competition makes things easier and puts a bit more drama in there too. Who knows, maybe we’ll find out vial girl’s mother whips her…..sorry.

I do want to say that I am very impressed with the rival girl’s disguise in her transformation. I mean, they look nothing alike, especially compared to 99 percent of all other magical girls who transform and look pretty much the same. I mean, she changes her hair, whether she has glasses or not, and hell, even seems to fill out as well. Hell, honestly I didn’t connect the two of them until the end of this episode. I had seen the blue haired girl in the OP and then I saw the blond haired girl when she appeared and didn’t think of them being the same at all. That’s very impressive and makes things a bit more interesting.

Definitely a very good disguise job there. At least its a shift from the transformations that make you say “and this is a secret identity how?” Really was impressed since you couldn’t figure it out until this episode.

Guess you could’ve thrown in as well in the first encounter the rival completely owns the main character…yeah I know no more comparisons.

Like how Tsuwabuki is trying to use the knowledge he gets from being Yuki to try and cheer Sumomo up. Pretty easy to see the bond growing between those two.
