Konata’s younger cousin Yutaka comes to stay at Konata’s house now that she’ll be going to the same high school.
Impressions:
Yutaka is great. I really hope they show her character fairly regularly because I do think it will make things much more fun. This episode had so man of its best moments when it drew on content from her so really it’s more then just liking her character and wanting her to appear more, I really do think she makes the show funnier. I’m fairly interested in how many other characters they are going to introduce. Just thinking back to the OP there are many cheerleader girls how seem to have an actual design and character set for them yet haven’t been introduced. One of them is the girl that Yu ran into, so it seems like she’ at least be in the show, however rarely. I’m just curious if the others will make an appearance around the same time as well.
As for the actual comedy in this episode, it was amazing. This has really been one of the best episodes of the series so far. It wasn’t even just because of the new character either; a lot of the content was rather independent but still hilarious. I just absolutely loved Konata’s dad saying how he wins at life when Yu first came over and was being very shy and cute. Then Konata adding up all of Yu’s qualities saying she is a walking pillar of turn-ons was just great. Those bits I guess really were because of Yu, but it’s not like they were something she did, just that others did because of her. There were some other stuff like Konata saying how she kept her old uniform for cosplay uses was great, and Miyuki’s mom was rather fun when she talked about talking to a telemarketer just for some company.
I just have to mention the ED again because of how very very weird it was. They started doing the weird Shiraishi ED last episode, but I didn’t think that they would change it this drastically between episodes. I thought perhaps they would go back to the regular one or kind of show the same Shiraishi one. However him singing the ED to Haruhi while dance fighting or whatever the hell it seemed he was doing was just really really weird. However, I’m not expecting even weirder things to come. I oddly do find it very fun to watch so I hope if they do keep up with the very weird Ops, they make them as weird as possible so they are more fun.

I think you forgot to write about your impressions on “Lucky Channel” in this episode. Personally I found it pretty funny when Akira´s voice was the only appearance she made…FINAL ANSWER!….and when she asked support from her fans to make a new appearance on the next episodes, and Shiraishi interrupted her…pure genius!
Although the new ED are pretty weird, I find them to be far less entertaining as the former ED. I hope the new ED isn’t going to continue until the end of the show.
Apart from Yutaka, Yui also deserves a kudos from me in this ep. Especially the bit where Konata uses her when thinking about the responsibilities of a bigger sister.
