Modenkind tries to recover from the huge malfunction and race to get to Hiems before the new Ebi-chan iDOL reaches it.

Impressions:
This episode was great. I was really surprised at how much drama there was. Its’ been a couple of episodes in a row that have had a large amount of drama like this, but it doesn’t seem to be going down in quality or anything. I just hope they can keep things interesting once they go back to their home base. Of course it’s easy to pull excitement and drama when they are doing something like trying to recover a new iDOL; back at the base is when it will be hard to keep up. However I think with the amount of problems they have had with the whole iDOL having a heart thing and seemingly randomly not working of the users, they will have plenty of material to use. Makoto really hasn’t shown any improvement in her attitude, so she’s still just as interesting to watch to see how she’ll react. I think the next highlight will be how she handles basically making the same mistake she said she wouldn’t, not doing whatever the manager did to make Nebula stop working for her.
One of the things I’m surprised with the most about so far in the series, not just this episode, is how many traumatic events in people’s pasts they have yet to show. They keep references for several characters huge things that happened in the past. There is whatever happened with the manager in the past that caused Nebula to stop reacting to her. She was in a stretcher so something big seemed to happen. That could be what’s in Makoto’s past too, as she had shown before signs of not wanting to repeat the mistakes in the past. She even said like she knew for experience that if you worry about the iDOL you’ll make a mistake you can’t forgive yourself for. Then of course there is the traumatic even in Ami’s past, and then whatever caused for Triabeater to form when they stole Nubulim. They have quite a lot of material established already that they could easily fill many episodes giving all these character back stories. I just hope they do in fact give good representation of these events, as many of them seem to be very interesting.
