Extra 13th DVD episode Ova, telling the story of “Tsunderella” as she makes her way to try and win over the prince. Takako playing the part of Tsunderella, and Mizuho as the prince.
Impressions:
Wow….that was one of the most bizarre and weird things I have ever watched. I was just not anticipating anything like this. It wasn’t even just an initial shock of how they did everything. I actually really liked that they did an entire episode in the super chibi form. I wouldn’t want the entire series that way, but for most of the series it was normal animation with a few of those forms thrown in there. They were used in the ED and everything, so I just thought it was rather interesting to see them this way. Plus, it really fit with the whole craziness and just… bizarreness of the entire episode. So despite the fact that it was in super chibi mode the entire episode, I was still just stunned at the entire thing. It was just so….continually bizarre. The concept itself though was pretty funny, and overall I would have to say that I enjoyed the episode quite a bit. I wouldn’t want the entire series to be this way, not just the animation but this kind of wackiness, but of an extra OVA that wasn’t affecting the plot or anything like that, it was quite enjoyable to watch. I thought the whole concept of “Tsuderella” was hilarious, and I liked that they used the word tsunderella instead of just Cinderella, since that was basically what it was a story of.
As I said above, all in all this was really funny and enjoyable to watch. It was a bit stupid but really I think that’s what they were shooting for, as it didn’t really seem like they tried to make this all that super intelligent. It’s an extra episode, so of course it’ll just be for fun. I loved the whole Kanamobile thing, and then later showing a swarm of Kana bugs. One of the continually funny bits about this was the involvement of already exiting characters as there parts. If this had been anything else it would have likely been crap, or if Takako was the only same character and everyone else was different. This really made it tie in with things and just made it more fun to watch. Shion as the fairy godmother was funny too, although the random bit of fan service was a bit of a surprise, nothing necessarily wrong with that…. :D
On a bit of a side not from this actual episode, I am looking forward to the second season of OtoBoku. I have it listed on my page of upcoming anime that I’m looking forward to. I haven’t heard much about it, but I did hear forma couple places that the second season would be coming, so I’m looking forward to that. I’m a bit curious too since the second season is going to be based off of the same game as the first season, there is no sequel game, I just wonder how that’s going to work out. I guess there was enough content left, or I hope there was.
