sola - 10

Yorito is told by Mana of Aono’s identity, leading Yorito to have even more questions about his memories of far in the past.

Impressions:

Wow…..wow…..I am stunned beyond belief at this episode. When they showed the bit about Yorito’s identity my jaw just dropped and I seriously watched a good chunk of the rest of the show with my mouth remaining open like that, in shock. I mean, I knew there was something up with Yorito. Everyone should have known that. They showed several flashbacks of him at the same age, but the current one didn’t’ seem to now about those. However, that was really pretty vague. It’s enough to set off something being different with him, but no where near enough to actually set off what was going on, or to even gauge how important it was going to be. I really had no clue that Yorito was basically a familiar of Aono’s However, it does fit really perfectly. Hell, she has control over paper, and she controlled Yorito. Plus, this explains why she felt so attached to him and seemed to get defensive the one time Aono told Matsuri that he was her one and only brother, like she wanted to believe nothing happened.

His whole identity thing really brings up a whole slew of possibilities for what can happen in the show. One of the more important things is Matsuri wanting to know how to sue the sword. That combined with her actually telling Yorito that she loved him, really leads to a lot of interesting possibilities. I don’t really think that she would sacrifice herself for him to be with Aono or anything now. That may have been a possibility before, but since she said she loves him I didn’t think that’s going to happen. However, if he is a familiar it makes me wonder what would happen to him if anything happened to Aono. Is he independent enough hat if she dies he’d still exist? The sword has some kind of mystical capabilities, but what are they exactly. Is Matsuri going to try and become human, or make Yorito human? And at the cost of whose life? The kiss scene and her saying that to him really does make things much more real. It would make one of the disappearing all the more tragic, but the way these shows go that wouldn’t necessarily be out of the question. Her quote for Yorito to disappear with her was interesting, but I kind of got the feeling they didn’t’ just because he appeared to go to school with Mana, but I guess he could go away with her later, or it could have an entirely different meaning. Either way, a lot of questions were answered, and most of the confusion about stuff is gone. All that remains is many interesting possibilities for the show to go in.

Even though Aono wasn’t really the main focus of this episode, although it didn’t really deal with her feelings or motivation too much, I still found that just from finding out Yorito’s identity, it did kind of justify a bit what she was doing. After all, we pretty much find out that Aono created him. Matsuri said she was obsessed with re creating him, and if she went though such a huge emotional hit to loose someone that close to her, then made him again, it’s a bit more understandable not that she would freak out when someone was taking him away from her. Especially if we find out that Matsuri had something to do with whatever happened. However, even if not, it still makes it more understandable. Not to say that that’s the best action for someone to take, but I can at least understand her character better.

    hmmm

if the whole sword thing is meant to be a show down with aono..then the question is who is right and who is wrong…

if yorito was human or “a creature” created by nature then really no body owns him…but does the fact that he was made by aono mean that she owns him?…

after this episode… to me yorito is like arobot that can think for it self however a robot none the less. Its creator is Aono.

if there is a show down..who is right? the owner or the other person who wants the owners “robot”?

But there have been enough twists and turns i wouldnt be suprised is matsuri goes after some head boss so taht they can all become human again…

    oh well time will tell….

I really doubt there would be some head boss, it would make the whole connection between the characters meaningless. And its not so much Matsuri wanting the “robot” as you said, but trying to gain freedom for him. That’s why I think Aono’s character is much more justifiable now, because she is protecting something that she made.

The sword could lead to a showdown, in fact I’m sure it will, but I think it symbolizes more since Takeshi said that with this sword and the life of a yaka, he could make Mayuko human. That means the sword has some possibilities, whatever the exact requirements are, to turn a yaka human, which opens up even more possibilities.
