The girls get ready for the school sports festival, talking about the events they’re going to be in.

Impressions:

The sports festival was very fun to watch. It was a bit interesting that they had a segment that long, as all of the other random segments and conversations happened in short bursts, this was one of the few that took place around the same thing for so long. Miyuki was awesome and totally kick ass in the sports festival, how she looked so deadly serious when waiting for the baton, and then sprinting that fast. They really should include her a bit more. Konata winning the sprint and visualizing a game, even as old as she did was just perfect and fit her exactly. I thought Konata’s dad was pretty funny too, how he was showing up at festivals other then her’s, just taking pictures, and then getting kicked out. Konata didn’t even view it as odd or bad behavior, which made it even more awesome. I can pretty much tell where Konata gets all of her….er…influence.

I LOVED when Tsukasa kind of talked back to Konata, but wasn’t being mean or anything, just mentioning that she heats sweets for lunch too when Konata made a point about it. Then Konata says to herself, “Stupid Tsukasa has the gall to give me lip.” I just found that hilarious, as Tsukasa wasn’t being mean or anything, just talking with the conversation and pointing out how Konata was at fault. The reference to the Shuffle manga was cool, and it was neat for me since I have the Shuffle manga. Although, I wonder how long ago this was made because the 6^th volume is the newest one, and it’s been out for at least a month. In the show they made it seem like it was a new release. Although it’s not like that really affect the show much, still something I want to point out :D Finally I have to point out that I loved the whole bipolar girls hafta wear pigtails, and all of Konata’s remarks of anime to real life.

I thought it was funny when in Lucky Star they mentioned how they needed some more new content or they’d be accused of taking advantage or overusing mannerisms, which is pretty much what they are doing. Lucky Channel wouldn’t’ be anywhere near as interesting without Akira there, and such her mannerisms, so she really does make the segment. It’s just her lighting quick back and forth between the two personalities and tsundere aspect of herself that makes things interesting.
