Haseo continues to work his way though the Holy Palace Tournament in order to confront Sirius.

Summary: 

• Haseo wins his first fight in the tournament and Alkaid says how she has gotten to understand Haseo more. We see behind the arena Sakaki talking to an unknown person who is Bordeaux. We find out that they are working together, that Sakaki wants her to defeat Sirius and retrieve “it” for him. With it he will become powerful. AIDA will choose him, the new world will choose him, he says. But one of his groupies, an officer in Moon Tree, hears his maniacal rant.
• Haseo gets an email notifying him of the new job extension quest. He got an email from Silabus that he and Gaspard want to help, so the three of them do the quest together. Haseo keeps getting pissed off at them for talking and goofing off, that he’s no here to have fun. Eventually when he gets to the end and has abandoned them he realizes the point of this quest was to find power within your friends, and Haseo makes up with them and gets the job extension.
• Haseo then goes to train for the next round of the tournament with Alkaid and Atoli. They head off to an area and Alkaid makes a remark referring to Atoli as Haseo’s girlfriend. Atoli gets embarrassed and freaks out saying she’s not. Alkaid says that good and Atoli freaks out again asking what she meant by that.
• After training Haseo gets an email from Nala from Moon Tree telling him to meet him behind a beast statue somewhere where there is a Tri Edge sign. Haseo goes there and uses it to teleport to a new Lost Grounds. Nala tells him about his next opponent, Hirragi from Moon Tree, the Sakaki obsessed very very masculine looking woman. Nala helps him out and when Haseo asks why, Nala says he will find out in time.
• Haseo fights in the next match against Hirragi, and eventually looses. Hirragi freaks out saying how she’s been embarrassed in front of Sakaki and that she’ll never forgive Haseo.
• Alkaid asks Haseo out to an area to train, and so they just talk until they get to the boss. After defeating it Haseo receives a weapon called Honeysuckle, and asks Alkaid if he knows what it means. He flashes back to when Shino gave him a weapon called Honeysuckle. She tells him that it means devoted affection. Haseo tells Alkaid this and she gets incredibly embarrassed and just fumbles around her words until she heads out, leaving Haseo there depressed about the past.
• Haseo gets notice its time for the next match in the tournament, up against Nala. Atoli’s back so the two of them and Alkaid head over to the tournament. In preparation Alkaid says they don’t have to worry since they trained together. Atoli asks what she means and Alkaid says they trained together. Atoli gets really mad and jealous and Alkaid adds that they did some really hot, super secret training together, just the two of them. Atoli asks if that’s true and Haseo just fumbles around and says yeah. Atoli gets all pissed off and jealous saying she sees how it is.
• Haseo wins the match without any real problems, and we see behind the arena Sakaki talking with who has yet to be revealed, Bordeaux. He says how she will be fighting Haseo in the finals after all, she just needs to win. Hirragi comes barging into their conversation saying that she thinks he needs him to stop associating with these kinds of people. Sakaki just says to go away basically, saying that if she trusts him and so on she’ll believe in what he is doing and not get in the way.
• After doing some more training with Alkaid and Atoli, who cat fight again, Haseo receives an email from Kuhn. He says how more and more people are falling into comas, and AIDA is spreading. He says he thinks “she” is evolving. He asks for his help to investigate an area. Haseo sees how Kuhn has been working hard by himself this whole time, and decides to help him.
• Haseo goes with Kuhn and just does a regular AIDA eradication mission, however revealing Skeith’s new form due to his job extension.
• Alkaid sends Haseo an email saying she received an email saying that someone will tell her what happened to Sirius, she asks Haseo to meet her there, the meeting place being a Lost Ground. We see Alkaid at the Lost Ground before Haseo arrives, and she faces Bordeaux. She asks if she was the one who sent her the email and then is all of a sudden attacked, and some AIDA swarms around her. Haseo arrives to find only Alkaid there, as she falls to the ground. Alkaid then disappears in Haseo’s arms as he cries while she disappears, Alkaid telling him not to cry because he’s a strong boy, and boys don’t cry. n. Alkaid disappears, leaving Haseo devastated by himself
• Haseo logs off and gets an email from Atoli saying how they should go training with Alkaid, and Haseo decides that he can’t keep this from Atoli.
• There is a news article about Alkaid’s collapse, talking about a 16 year old in Hokkaido saying she fell into a coma while playing the game, they even mention how she was recently playing every day to train for the arena fights, and even include a RL picture of her. She’s hot IRL too btw.

Impressions:

GAHH!! DAMNIT! I knew that scene was coming. Not that I was just thinking this was going to happen, I’ve read spoilers on Vol. 2 enough to know that this scene was coming but it still pissed me off so much. I was almost just screaming at the TV, “No, God damnit!” I hate Bordeaux so much right now; I hope the bitch dies a slow and painful death in real life. Even though I loved Alkaid and hated so much to see her go, her disappearance scene was done very very well. I thought it was pretty emotional, even for a character disappearing who wasn’t really a big part of Vol. 1, or at least someone who didn’t have an emotional connection to Haseo in Vol. 1. It was pretty sad, and I loved that Haseo actually cried. Hell, he didn’t do that for Shino! Or when Atoli was hit with the AIDA, that means he loves Alkaid the most, 100 percent undeniable proof, there, ha! Anyways, very well done scene. I thought it was really cool how they had a news report talking about the exact event, giving some information about Alkaid in real life

Even though Alkaid did die and go all comatose in this section of summary and impressions that I’m doing, it’s also the part with the huge cat fight scenes, that were some of the funniest and best scenes in the entire game so far. They were so hilarious, and since I love Alkaid and I really like to see romance and relationship advancement in things, even if it’s very minor, it was great. I just loved the part where Alkaid said, “We went on a really hot, super secret training mission, just the two of us.” And then of course not just the line, but Atoli’s reaction to it all was absolutely hilarious and priceless. The other scenes were great too, just talking between them, Atoli being jealous. The honeysuckles scene was great. Although a bit touching because of the whole Shino crap, ptth, Alkaid getting embarrassed like that but not actually denying anything was great. She was amazingly cute when she got embarrassed.

Honestly aside form the Alkaid event, this section doesn’t really cover that much plot, but it did take a bit of time in the game.  I decided to stop it here because I know the next section will be packed full of interesting stuff, although none of it will be anywhere near as interesting without Alkaid.

I’m still a bit confused and surprised at Sakubo not being in the game yet. I mean, he/she is an epitaph user yet was only shown once during the OP scene. You’ve got to fight Gorre in this volume. I know I said this last section, but she still hasn’t appeared yet. I’m getting really curious as to Sakubo’s arc’s placement in the volume now.
