Nahashi reflects upon the past where he was close friends with Lucia’s parents, showing how things started to go bad and how Nahashi came to be Lucia’s only guardian.

Impressions:

Wow, this show has really completely stepped up from what it used to be. THIS is why I think it’s just wrong to drop a show; you miss out on cases like this. Honestly, this show started off rather slow and got repetitive fast and was kind of boring. However now, last episode and this episode were dynamite. They have some really interesting and deep plot that is just awesome to watch. This episode in particular was great, learning the huge thing that happened in the past involving Nahashi and Lucia’s parents. It’s usually interesting to see a back-story though, but this one seemed much more interesting because it wasn’t just focused on telling why a character did something. Most back stories generally show a characters motivation for something, however this one really just showed a lot about the plot mostly. The whole fragment thing, the powers they introduced, and the relationship between Lucia’s parents, Lola and Lyla, and Nahashi. I wasn’t expecting there to be such a connection with Nahashi. I thought maybe he adopted Lucia or took her under his wing more randomly, not that he was best friends basically with her mother and kind of with her father. I wasn’t expecting there to be anywhere near this kind of back-story for anything really but that was definitely the highlight of this episode. Well, doesn’t make much sense to say that I guess since it was pretty much the only thing in the episode, but still it was done very well. The plot although has just gotten so intense. As to whom the hell the people with Lyla are, why Lyla and Lola were created, they said they were lifeless dolls but Lola seems pretty damn energetic and full of life to me. Plus what exactly this fragment thing is. Not to mention the real power of Lucia’s eye and if Sumire and Lucia are connected at all.

Speaking of Sumire and Lucia, I think there is something much much bigger going on between them. There has to be a big connection because the birthday thing seems just too odd and pointless if it was just a coincidence. There has to be a reason why they choose to give both of them the same birthday otherwise it would just be needlessly complicating things. I’m not exactly sure what though, because it seemed like Sumire gained her powers from that broach, which again had a connection to both of Lucia’s parents. Perhaps the broach just awoke her powers or something. I think it’s still odd. Almost like Lucia and Sumire are two parts of something. After all Sumire has the crazy eyes and power of Lucia’s father and Lucia has her father’s different-colored-eyes. The arm markings came from her mom so I don’t know what the deal with those are, but it just seems like the connection with Sumire has to be something bigger then her stumbling into things.
