The first Primula episode, dealing with how Rin meets Primula and his effort to make her happy.

Impressions:

Well, that was a great episode. Maybe not so much for the actual episode, I can’t really judge that because I’m a bit biased when it comes to Primula. She is my favorite Shuffle character by far, and one of my all time favorite characters. Honestly, it’s not JUST because she is a loli. I am a bit of a lolicon and like a lot of loli characters, but that’s not the only thing that appeals to me about Primula. Here character is just interesting. Sure there are quiet and shy type of characters elsewhere and same with lolis, but they aren’t always put together and even if they are, Primula just seems to be so much more interesting. She has a huge and tragic backstory, one of the most interesting ones in the whole series. The progress her character shows thought the original series is amazing and has made her a great character to watch. Not only that but she is indeed cute. The small quirks and things she does make me love her more, but unlike many characters, that’s not all I like her for.

Things will start getting a bit more interesting now I think. They’ve gone though all of the main five girls, and they all should be getting at least one more episode. Sure there are some other characters and they may show them, but not as in depth as these. I guess I’ll have to wait and see though if they are going to do a Mayumi or the teacher episodes first before they get into the second episode of the five main girls. So far they seem to have done a good job of leaving out a lot of the main big drama that these characters have, saving basically their high point in the entire series for one episode that will be shot off in a row, so I really want to see that again.

I know each character has their own OP and Ed, but I just loved Primula’s. Now, that could and likely is because as I’ve ranted above, I love Primula. She is one of my all-time favorite characters and favorite Shuffle character. However it just seemed to fit really nicely. The OP was great because it showed some stuff subtly about what Primula’s story was all about, showing Ama and then the Nerine clone. I loved the Ed, which I usually don’t pay much attention to. It was hilarious in such a small way without doing much, a whole Alice in Wonderland thing. It was just so odd and random, it was great.
