After the Order has lost contact with Kanda on one of his missions, Allen and Lenalee set out to find him and investigate the Innocence he was after.

Impressions:

Although I had previously complained a bit about the show not taking more of a focus on the overall plot, this episode, despite that factor, was great. They didn’t really deal with Noah’s family, which is still a rather untouched subject considering how serious it seemed when they introduced it. This episode seemed to be just about gathering another Innocence piece; however it was still pretty interesting. I liked that I had a focus on Kanda a little bit, although I thought from the preview and just the beginning that they would show a bit more of him actually fighting, perhaps using Innocence. It seems again however that Allen will end u p stepping in and fighting when this small arc concludes, still its good to have him in, I just wish they’d show more of the “powers” he has, he’s one of the least developed in terms of unique abilities his Innocence has.

I thought the story about the swordsman living for 1000 years was interesting on its own. Although it seems like it will eventually boil down to something like one of the first arcs had about the doll that kept living. This one seems to be roughly the same, swordsman lives 1000 years and sees the princess in another princess. I hope that despite its bit of redundancy it will be interesting, because it may have the same base but that doesn’t mean they can’t make it fairly unique and interesting.

I really liked the tension they showed in this episode behind Allen and Lenalee’s relationship. Not only the bit near the beginning where they referred to Allen trying to do everything himself, and Lenalee saying how she is there and that’s what friends were for, but I thought that their chemistry throughout the whole episode was rather good. Although I hope for some kind of romantic relationship eventually between them, I think it will be interesting, that’s not the only thing that I like about what they have shown. Lenalee’s personality is more and more interesting and I loved that there was not only the drama about helping each other, but just the normal stuff abut them working together. Not to say the other characters aren’t interesting, looked at by themselves they are all fairly interesting with some potential, but the relationship romantic and not, between Lenalee and Allen are turning out to be really nice.
