The first Asa episode, regarding Asa’s feelings and past with her mother Ama.

Impressions:

I still don’t know why people are bitching so much about the way this series is handled. Someone even said it was a complete failure. I can only conclude that those people are idiots. My god shut the fuck up about this show not being whatever your tiny insolent mind thought this would be. What the hell did people expect this show to be, all new episodes? Of course it’s going to be a damn recap, showcasing characters and important events. It’s called Shuffle MEMORIES for god sake, its not fucking Tick Tack or Really Really. How the hell are they supposed to explain and implement new content from the same game they made the original series out of? The main stuff they left out would be the ending to everyone else’s arc, which they can’t easily put in, not without hurting the quality. It takes building up to the conclusion for it to work; they can’t just randomly show new content of the other girls’ arcs. I know I’ve ranted about this before a bit and will likely not mention it again, but I’m just so pissed off at peoples attitudes to this. I don’t have a problem with someone not liking something I do, but when they say they don’t like it for stupid idiotic reasons like this it just blows my mind how people that stupid are allowed to live.

Well, that rant aside I loved this episode because Asa is tied up with Primula for my favorite character from the series. I think they nicely showed not only her personality, but they showed her situation and feelings for Rin really well. They gave enough information to show some of the more interesting parts of her past and her relationship with everyone, Rin and Kaede, and the past she and her mother had while not really leaving anything unfinished. Although there will be another Asa episode, they didn’t make this part crap until we see the next, this was good by itself. I really liked how even though they were showcasing Asa’s arc, they mentioned the other ones too. Rin talking with Asa because of Primula’s problem, and then Rin mentioned Nerine’s past as well really made it feel not so isolated, like everything was more connected.
