Sumire tries to return to a normal life but can’t due to her ability to see viruses and her obligation to use her power to stop them.

Impressions:
Well, I mentioned before the idea of viruses at school but didn’t necessarily think they would appear this soon. Although, it is a bit different then I had envisioned it. They seem to be putting an emphasis on the idea that Sumire can’t have a normal life. At first, after the first episode I had thought that the show may take the route where Sumire has a pretty normal public life with friends and such but then does the virus stuff on the side. However they already introduced in this episode that that is a huge dilemma for her, that she can’t return back to normal because of her powers and obligation to those powers. I hadn’t really thought of the idea for the focus of the show to go that way, but so far I think it really makes things more interesting. It puts more of an urgency and importance to her fighting the viruses, as she doesn’t really have a choice. That is her life. I would still like to see some more school life, and I’m sure we will but it seems like it will be taking a little bit different path then I had thought, focusing on how she can’t have a normal outside life rather then just having both a normal life and virus fighting one.
I’m really curious as to what the different symbols mean. Not only did they show differentiating symbols in this one, they made a point of wondering what they exactly mean. They showed four of them drawn on the piece of paper which doesn’t even include the one with one line thing up and the other down. It seems to be an indication of power and I’m guessing it directly corresponds with how crazed and insane she goes. I still think that the berserker mode adds a lot to this show, being one of the more interesting points so far and seemingly an important focus.
The other thing about this episode that had me wondering was at the end when they showed the guy Sumire ran into. I was a bit confused as they showed him briefly and then went to a shot of Sumire going home. Sumire obviously has a crush on him because of the whole blush thing, however I think there is way more to him. They already have a character, the boy Sumire’s age, that likes Sumire so they have thrown in a small romance in there that wont be the focus, however now throwing that guy into the scene makes me thing either the guy will turn out to be evil or have powers and help. There’s got to be more to him.
the first suymbol means earth, then water, air and fire
The OP/ED screams a Sumire/Lucia pairing, and I will accept nothing less. :-D
