Yoake Ma Yori Ruri Iro Na ~Crescent Love ~ - 12 [Final]

Tatsuya and Feena stand together, trying to convince everyone to allow them to be together and stop the war that is close to breaking out between the Earth and the Moon

Impressions:

The ending surprised me a bit. Not the ending regarding Feena and Tatsuya’s marriage, but Tatsuya dieing. I expected a happy ending even though I could easily see a tragic one happening. However when Tatsuya got shot I still wasn’t too surprised. I figured they would do some thing where he wasn’t fatally shot and he got better and everything would be fine, they would all be closer because he showed he really did care. However when he actually died I was just dumbstruck. I’m glad in the end he turned out alright, but how they brought him back was a little odd I thought. The fact that he was brought back to life, not just recovered medically or anything. The sudden appearance of a huge unknown alien ship and magic that bought him back, plus his father appearing as well was just sudden and strange. That may not have been the best way to handle his death or just him taking a bullet, but it wasn’t the most important part of the story and wasn’t’ that bad, just odd.

I loved that they had an epilogue, showing several years later. It was neat to see everyone and I like that they did seem to make them a bit older looking. I liked the whole Wreath and Sayaka thing. The only thing I would have liked to see was what kind of response they had when they returned to earth, Feena and Tatsuya. If they would continue going to school or if Tatsuya dropped out, or what the situation was more directly after the event, but if it was one or the other I like that they showed several years later.

Go Takano! I loved that he played a huge part in this episode, but it wasn’t a stretch to use him either. For the most part he seemed like he was there for comic relief but in this episode, if it wasn’t for him then Feena, Tatsuya and the king would likely be dead. First of all it was just cool that he broadcasted the meeting for both worlds to see. That not only helped people know what was going on, but made it so it was less secretive about what was happening to the other people involved. Most importantly it showed that Jurgen was a traitor and lead to him not complete taking over and destroying the earth.

Final Words:

I’m still a bit pissed off at people for dismissing this anime so early. Sure its animation may have sucked, and the story at the BEGINING wasn’t the best. It had a lot of clichéd and some moments that didn’t’ work very well. However the second half of this show was amazing. Not in animation quality but in the story. You know the thing that matters. I’m probably going to go on yet another bigger rant about this topic on a post by itself, but ill say it a bit here. Sure, bad animation may make a show less enjoyable but it is idiotic to dismiss a show because of that. The point of it is to tell the story. What is important is overall plot, comedy or drama aspects, character advancements and relations. Animation and Sound are so far on the bottom of the list of things truly important in an anime that anything to do with them pale in comparison when looking over what said anime is about, good or bad, all of its qualities and so forth.

Again, the end of this series was spectacular. Not to get into animation like I did above, but the second half of this series was incredible. It was unique and provocative. It actually dealt with political issues and struggle between the moon and the earth. The story didn’t keep some problem all the way though where Feena and Tatsuya realize their feelings. They had already figured that out half way though. The rest was trying to get OTHERS to accept their feelings because of the political situation. Even though there were some aspects like Wreath there it was still about what their relationship would do to the political relationship of the moon and the earth. Being together didn’t’ mean a certain way; it was how they handled it that did.

Overall I think this show is much better then people give it credit for. The second half was amazing with a plot that was exciting and made you think. However you can’t just dismiss the first half which was filled with sub par plot and animation. Overall though, the plot in the first half wasn’t bad, just slow and repetitive and as I’ve said before I don’t think animation is important. This show may not be the best but its plot really did bring something new that people didn’t really seem to experience because of dropping it before it got there.

You know I never thought of an ending if Tatsuya took a fatal wound but survives, making the bond even stronger. I probably would have preferred that than the whole saved by aliens and Dad comes home. It just loses the whole romance drama theme that YoakeNa had going for it.

Having also watched through the entire series, I still believe still believe the entire series was a flop. But I do agree on your point that the second half got slightly better with the introduction of Wreathlit’s purpose. But still, it just couldn’t save what YoakeNa had become from the previous episodes.

At that, I salute you for being one of very few who kept blogging this.

I suppose you know that AugustSoft (creator of this) git pissed with the studio who made this right? It means this anime sucked bad.

No, thats not what it means. It means the anime didn’t justify the game, which it didn’t. In comparison the game was MUCH better then the anime. However it does not mean that the anime in whole was bad, because animation doesn’t make a show and the plot near the end was good.

This has to have a second season.

No, it doesn’t. In fact, I would bet large sums of money on this never getting another season first off because of the fact it as adapted from a game, they don’t really have much more content to draw, and second it was a rather horrible show and definitely wasn’t received well by the majority of viewers.

I’ll answer your other question here as well. It’s more or less my policy to not give out that information, my only suggestion is to search on a search engine.

Some how, the whole “alien-coming-to-save-Tatsuya” thing was a bit… Unexpected. I knew that there were some supernatural themes (Wreath), I never expected a giant alien space craft to show up in the middle of the battle. I feel like I just got a Deus ex machina ending. But, Overall, I really liked the series. What drawn me in would probably be the artist’s style for the characters and the plot seemed solid. But of course, when they were in the ball room and the guy was going bonkers, I knew he would try to shoot someone and that Tatsuya would take the shot. A bit preditcable but the alien thing was totally unneeded…
