Allen has to deal with his eye being temporarily injured and unable to discern human from Akuma, letting him feel the way the other exorcists must in order to protect innocent humans.

Impressions:
For not much actual action or plot development, this episode was excellent. It had an actual psychological issue that was fascinating. I never thought of the whole mind set of thinking everyone is an Akuma because they can’t tell. The whole mindset they have of wearing the coats to become bait as to draw the Akuma to them and away from regular humans. I did think for a minute earlier about how it was a little bit odd for the exorcists to wear such obvious statements to the Akuma that they are their enemy. I thought it was a kind of plot hole, making them wear coats for them to look cool but I was just amazed that they actually had a serious and interesting reason for it.
I would have liked to see a little bit more of Allen coping with having to remember the mindset others have to have and that he showed at the end of this episode. I’m not saying to keep his eye injured forever, but see a bit ore of him having to be more paranoid basically. It would take away a bit from his usefulness, but it was an interesting enough issue that the exorcists had to face that it could have been really interesting.
What the hell was up with the whole thing about Allen being called the destroyer of time? Bookman seemed to say that like it was a serious thing, and then Allen just reacted like him being The Destroyer of Time was no big deal, like he knew it. What the hell is up with that? I’m pretty sure they never gave him any kind of title like that before, and if they did they didn’t stress it really. I just wish they would have given more information on that, “The Destroyer of Time” seems like a pretty damn important and powerful title. Either it actually isn’t an important title which would be rather stupid, or they just didn’t make that big of a deal about it when they should have. I’m not saying they needed to go into a full blown arc about this, but at least elaborate on it a bit more.
Ok this isnt a spoiler but simple logic really so i’ll just go ahead and say it. Bookman later states in the manga that Bookmen have been observing time for as long as they can remember, and as long as they can remember, the earl has been around. So, by destroyer of time, Allenkun there is eventually meant to be the destroyer of “time” -aka the earl- Linali plays a big part of that too but i can’t say anymore becuase it would be a spoila. So yea i just cleared that up no problem =)

Don’t know why they didn’t make a big deal about it on the actual anime, but I can see the conversation about it in the {meta}anime. It’d go something like this:
[meta}Bookman: Oh, by the way, Allen, you’re the {OMINOUS PROPHECY NAME}.
{meta}Allen: Oh, really? Cool! I kinda figured that, as a cursed shounen lead. How’s that going to go down?
{meta}Bookman: Oh, the typical. We’ll hint at it a few times, and eventually we’ll have a whole arc about it, but it’ll all turn out all right in the end, since this isn’t a particularly dark anime, and you’ll probably end up getting a new powerup out of it. Might be screwed in the manga, though. Gotta ask about that.
{meta}Allen: Cool…cool… And how many more episodes before we get Lenalee back? I totally miss the panty shots.
{meta}Bookman: Tell me about it! Not too much longer, I think. You’ve got a filler arc in the meantime. Couldn’t tell much from the preview, but it looks like you, Byakuya, and Kakashi take on Frankenstein. Total. Sausage. Fest.
{meta}Allen: Aw, man… …Hey, Bookman?
{meta}Bookman: Yeah?
{meta}Allen: That acupunture stuff with Lenalee, that’s just an excuse to feel her up while she’s asleep, right?
{meta]Bookman: Yeah. Totally.
{meta}Allen: Lucky bastard…
