Ok, after a long time gathering nominees I have finalzied each category down to five entries. Just so all of you who gave me suggestions know you did affect the outcome, for a majority of the nomiees were solely based on which nomiees had the most suggestions.
I will start gathering votes from the seven judges in about a week or so. This will give the judges a chance to see the nominees and if they want to research or watch a little bit about the series that are up for nomination but havn’t seen. Plus give a chance for all of you to discuss here which you think will win and so on. Just to reiterate only the judges votes will determine the final winner, however if some of you are really persuasive you may be able to convince them one way or another by talking here :D

Hmm shouldn’t we judge a series after it’s finished its run? After all how can we deem TokiMemo worst anime when the series isn’t half finished? The rest of the nominations are pretty sound though.
Befuddled by some of the nominees.
No NANA for anime of the year? It’s the show most likely to make a long-term impact in Japan. Certainly one of the more popular shows, adapted from an even more popular manga.
And somewhat surprised at the exclusion of Rin (Fate/Stay Night), one of the more memorable characters you’ll ever see in an anime. Certainly more “unique” than Saber (though a fine character in her own right).
Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu was one of the more surprising anime of the year, and somewhat surprised to see it fail to crack the top 5.
Also, Kanon 2006 may have the animation going for it, but the music… let’s just say that it’s not its strong point. Uninspired, flat, mediocre, and out-of-place is how I would describe it.
With that said, this is just for fun, so I’ll be interested in seeing how the voting goes. I’ll give everyone credit for doing a better job than the Oscars, at the very least.

Anime - Suzumiya Haruhi (no surprise there I guess since I’m one of the many Haruhi fanboys)
Female - Fujioka Haruhi (really wanna say Nagato Yuki but thats mostly because of the novels)
Male - Aizawa Yuuichi (I’d vote for Kyonichi but it’s one or the other)
Cute - Aruruu (Close one between her and Shouko. Its the ears I tell you)
Music - Suzumiya Haruhi (Hirano Aya enough said)
Suprising - Suzumiya Haruhi (To get this big especially when there was no hype before shown)
Comedic - Muteki Kanban Musume (I ran out of breath laughing so hard)
Complex - ZegaPain (I pretty much understood the others and I didn’t watch Ergo Proxy)
Touching - Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (Tough one since the other four are more recent)
Couple - Kyo x Ryoko (I’d say Louise x Saito but season 2 doesn’t air till next year)
Worst - Tsuyokiss (I kinda liked Soul Link and the others aren’t finished yet)

Music - Mushishi (the OST needs some loving, real japanese folk BGMs = rare)
Surprising - suzumiya haruhi, NoQuestionsAsked
Comedic - Ouran (i didn’t watch mutekikanbanmusume)
Complex - Ergo Proxy (i even have to see an involved (3-4 pages) interpretation for the whole concept of proxy, underlying metaphors for every episode, and so on)
Touching - if i have to choose, it’s Strawberry Panic (touched in a different way lol, meaning there’s an impression of ‘is lesbian so moe? oh what a guilty pleasure watching this…’)
Couple - Kyo x Ryoko, again, NQA (no tsundere relationship like kyonxharuhi)
wrost - lovedol (havent watch it, but synopsis kept me ‘well-informed’)

Tokimeki Memorial as worst anime?? Whaaaat?? Kirarin Revolution is sooo much worse than that!!
lol negima!? is so not funny. it should be nominated for most retarded remake of the year.
Danny: They’re just picking who they would vote for I believe, not nomintating any more.
As for soem of the other mentions, I really dind’t have that big of a say in what got nominated. NANA was only nominated by one person, ever other entry that made it had at least two, I even had to pick between a three way tie for the fith spot and those had three votes each.
Rin wasn’t nominated once for best female lead. Again, I didn’t really pick most of these guys. This is kind of a readers/viewers choice as far as the nominees go. There may be a couple in each category that aren’t the best, but they probably won’t win so its not that bad of a think.
I agree that Tokimeki isn’t the worst anime, I’m not going to vote for it, but there was a three way tie for the last entry so I just picked Tokimeki. The otheres weren’t that great of options either, none of them outragiously sucked.

Anime of the year: Simoun (More people should REALLY watch this series. Undoubtably best of the year, just far too underrated.)
Female of the year: Suzumiya Haruhi (I’m a part of Haruhiism, naturally…)
Male of the year: Kyon (Out of that list at least… Lulu comes in second though. And I hate Light, not to mention in my eyes isn’t really 2006 worthy with or without the current anime)
Cutest Character: Shouko (Not the cutest to me, but out of that list yes. She looks really really super cute in some frames after all)
Best Music: Mushishi (HAHA, and without a doubt. Simoun was my personal favorite thuogh)
Most Surprising: Simoun (Haruhi also qualifies, but I kind of expected it to be a good series prior to airing, not to mention I felt like Simoun died down until I caught up and realized it’s possibly my favorite series)
Most Comedic: Ouran Koukou Hosutobu ( :D I think Sumomomo Momomo is funnier when it comes to 2006, but on that list Ouran is best. Also need to show I watched that series too…)
Most Complex Story: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Yes, if you look at the GAMES. Based on the games, this is my most FAVORITE series ever as well. And I really need to get around to watching Zegapain)
Most Touching: Asatte no Houkou (Tell me how SP made it on that list oO;. It touched me a few times.. KAORI… but, meh. KARADACHAN!)
Best Couple: KyonxHaruhi (Hehe… duh?)
Worst Anime of the Year: Yoake mae yori ruriiro na (Tsuyokiss was enjoyable! So have the first 6 episodes of Lovedoll and Tokimemo that I made myself watch, to an extent. But Soul Link sucked. Yoake gets the award though since I was looking forward to it until episode 2 aired…)
