I will be holding an awards ceremony early next year or near the very end of this year. I will have several categories and I will take five nominees for each category and place them up agasnt each other in a vote. The voting and eventual winners will be determined by a council of seven judges. So far for judges there are Xebek (me) from Xebek’s Blog (duh), Omni from Random Curiosity, Danny from Novastorm, and Scottfrye from AnimeLife. I will find three judges soon.

I will begin getting votes from my seven judges after I have finilzed the five nominees each category will have. However, what I need from everyone is nominees. Go crazy, tell me several people for each category that you think should win. Ultimately the winners will be decided by the judges, however your nominees will easily make it to the voting block and have a chance. So, give me serious suggestions for the categories and we can make these awards more interesting.
All anime from 2006 will be eligble for any category, technically. Soul Link isn’t likely to win something like Anime of the Year, but you get what I mean. This includes shows from the winter season at the beginning of the year, like Fate/Stay Night and Kashimashi. This also inlcudes all fall shows, even ones that aren’t done.

I think that you should include those that started in 05 and ended in 06 since you really cant judge an anime until you can see most (if not all of it). Likewise, animes like Kanon (and other 20+ ep series that finish deep into 07) shouldnt be part of the nominations for anime of the year, (characters ok) save those for 07.

It is oddly difficult to choose once you get to it, but this is fun!
It’s hard to decide what to include when it comes to the end of the years. The reason I choose shows starting in 2006 is because If I go by shows that end in 06, that is about half of the previous fall season. By baseing it on shows that started in 06 it includes more shows, plus it makes people not have to think back as far.
Shows can still make quite a large impression on you even if they are only half done, even if one makes it to the top nominees then that means that it had to be exceptionally good, and if its not then it likely wont win the votes.
Making the seventh judge the readers is a good idea that I’ll consider. The reason I didn’t make the whole thing a poll was because it would be a bit pressed for time. Plus getting votes from reliable people I know is better then random people who may vote purposly for something that they think will fail or will vote for wheover is winning. Although having just one vote be based on readers wouldn’t be as bad. I’ll think about it.
