Bokura ga Ita - 22

Take takes Nana home after she waited for Yano to show up, and because of Yano’s attempt to apologize he catches a cold causing him to stay home from school. Nan goes to visit him, however finds Yuri is there first.

Impressions:

I’m still in utter disbelief at how much Yuri’s character is drawing me into this show. Throughout this episode, even though it wasn’t focused on her, I felt just utter shock and excitement when she showed up. I want to know what happens regarding her more then any of the other characters. Her predicament seems so hopeless, the only way for a happy ending out be for her to be with Yano it seems, but that seems so far out of the realm of possibility that I don’t see how she can become anything but a character with a rather tragic end. It’s not even that she is that bad of a character at all. She was so nice to Yano, bringing him a present to get well and seeing how he was. Although part of the reason she did that could very well have been because of her feelings, still, Yano was such a bastard! I can’t believe how utterly cruel Yano was to Yuri, after all she’s been though and how nice she was being.

Again I have to go off on a bit of a Yuri rant here. I loved the part where Yuri actually spoke out against Nana. She started out as just being a classic quiet girl, but the way she spoke out against nana was awesome. Some of it may not have been entirely true, but still, it was just amazing to watch. Not only was I shocked and surprised at her speaking out, but I was so proud of her for actually standing up for herself.

Regarding Take…FINALLY! He has been back and forth with his feelings for Nana throughout the entire series. He must have realized his feelings for her but resolved himself not to say anything and let Yano take her three more times by now! A couple of times I can understand, but again and again Take kept giving up on Nana but then realizing he shouldn’t have done that. Finally he actually has the guts to say something. The part where he said he could make Nana happier was not only shocking, but showed there was some hope for Take’s character. He’s a nice guy and all, and I fully understand why he just let Yano have her but he really needed to say something like he did here.

I’m still not sure what impact Yano’s mother’s divorce and moving will have. Apparently Yano would have to move with her, but that almost made the ending less exciting. It set up perfectly a clichéd part where Yano is about to go away but says no, I can’t, I love you Nana! I can easily see that happening, and I’m a bit disappointed at this plot device. Until now, the rest of the drama was centered on the characters and their feelings, yet now they suddenly though this in and its going to become about Yano leaving and whether he wants to or not.

I feel the same regarding Yuri. And it’s so nice to see other people appreciate her.
You’re right, I really can’t think of a way she’ll be happy. YanoxYuri is probably out of the question, so I guess she’ll have to overcome her one-sided love. But it could be impossible since she gave Yano so much already…
All I hope is that Yuri and Take will have a conclusive ending. Well, unless it will be an open-ending for everyone.

I think Yano did a big mistake to be pressured by Yuri to have sex. It was so creepy. It was good that he learned not to take sex so lightly. Like when he said, “I’m no good if I’m not with the girl I love. Sorry.” On the other hand Yuri wants to repeat the error. Even if he doesn’t love her she wants him? How miserable is that? If Yuri truly loved Yano, she would want his happiness, and not interfere with the girls he loves. She did wrong by her sister. Remember she didn’t pass along Yano’s message.
Yano is making a mistake by giving Yuri hope. He needs to make it clear to Yuri or she’ll keep coming to him.
