Mamoru finds out that the Astral Fire has been stolen, and goes out on a “date” with Ayako to try and find who took it.

Impressions:
Well, took long enough. This was one of my favorite series from just the first episode and looked the most promising, however for some unknown reason the sub group died or something. Which kind of confused me because, unlike some other series that stopped getting subbed, this one seemed very widely popular. Anyways, I’m glad it’s back and lets hope that it wont be another three months until the next episode.
I really like that Mamoru accepted Ayako’s confession. Not just because I like the characters or anything like that, it’s just that so many shows go throughout the whole series, and at the very end someone will accept a confession. Mamoru could have easily said he doesn’t know enough about Ayako yet and they could have dragged this on through the whole series. I think it’s great that they got that out of the way, because it leaves room fro the whole Ayako being embarrassed while on actual dates, and the relationship advancement between the two doesn’t have to just be about falling for each other and trying to express their r feelings. They’ve gotten that out of the way a bit.
The thing I was most surprised about was Mamoru’s power. I didn’t expect him to have any kind of power, and thought it would just be about Ayako fighting, Mamoru being there for support. However, I also got the impressions that Mamoru didn’t necessarily use Beatrice like Ayako does. She said that Mamoru used the Beatrice in the criminal’s body, so does that mean Mamoru can like tap into other people’s Beatrice? If so, then that makes for an interesting possibility when he is with Ayako, making them more of a team.
I loved the bit where whoever, I don’t want to go look up names, kept taking pictures of Ayako. I can see that being a running joke where she keeps taking pictures of her in embarrassing situations and I think it adds some to the show; I just hope it doesn’t get old. I’m starting to think I have some thing for girls who take pictures all of the time. Noriko from Tsyukiss, ablit not the greatest show made me laugh so damn hard every time she was on. Tama from Mahoraba, randomly taking pictures, she was one of the most kick ass characters ever. And now, this girl, I discovered some kind of latent impulse I have for girls with cameras.
I thought the first episode was pretty good too, and didn’t know why no one subbed it any further, though this episode didn’t really give the same impact as the first.
