Asatte no Houkou - 06

Tetsu visits Karada’s home looking for her, finding adult Karada and not realizing it’s eventually he goes off with her looking for Karada, just talking to each other.

Impressions:

Usually when an episode doesn’t have much plot advancement or any real character developments, it’s boring. This episode falls into the category of not having much happen, however it is an exception. I wasn’t bored with this episode at all, and in fact I liked it quite a bit. Even despite any real major things happening, this show continues to have its own charm. Just seeing the characters is so interesting because they aren’t all super clichéd school kids running around. Even despite the supernatural aspect this remains to be interesting, just seeing the characters interact with each other.

I liked how they gave Tetsu a tad more screen time. From the beginning I viewed him as someone who would have a big impact on the story. There is already a whole triangle between Karada, Shouko and Hiro. Not a love triangle really, just that Karada is the reason Hiro left Shouko and so on. However Tetsu gives this another aspect. It takes Karada who was just a method of creating conflict for Hiro and Shouko, and gave her her own problems and her own life. I just hope that because of the advancements they gave him now, they won’t ease off him in the future because I think his involvement and feelings for Karada can have an interesting and big impact on the story.

The next episode seems to be focused on Hiro’s birthday, and the relationship between him and Shouko. I was a bit surprised at how little development the two of them have gotten, because their past and their situation now seems to be one of the more important ones. Sure there is something between Karada and Tetsu as shown in this episode, but Shouko and Hiro have a much more interesting past that I hope they will expand on a bit.

Tetsu had a University of Texas jersey on at the end! That’s just really cool because around here UT football is BIG.

Anyway I found myself really captivated by the realism of this episode. Evreything worked so well together and i just gave me a cool but sweet feeling inside. This is my favorite show of the season, I do hope they go back to drama towards the end though.
